Legging it

Yes, they’re still in. Leggings are big news and although there are a few variations on the legging theme this season, you’ll still be donning this versatile and trusty 80’s garment in the coming months.

leggings-5This winter leggings are longer (make sure they sit on your ankles) and wet-look styles are seriously on trend. As we move into spring, Aztec and graphic print leggings will move onto our rails, being undoubtedly more difficult to wear than the trusty thick black pair.

Revamp your summer frocks with a pair of leggings and a cardi and if you’re a bit bashful when it comes to your pins, pair your miniskirts with opaque leggings (this is obviously also a good option for colder winter temperatures).

Shirt dresses and tunics are big news this season and are infinitely easier to wear with the addition of some leggings – just ensure that the hem reaches your upper thigh (tees and vests won’t do unless you are a model or aerobics instructor!).resize-wet-look-leggings-2 Bear in mind that darker colours (especially the perennial favourite black) are more flattering than lighter shades and patterns. Lace is also bang on trend this season and adds a feminine touch.

Boots over leggings are a great look for winter, and teamed with flats tights look easily casual.
