This week I would like to introduce to you someone who is very dear to me. She was one of the first girls I became friends with when I joined Chictopia. She has had a fashion blog since July 2008, I know because I have been following her blog for ages and among others, she was a huge inspiration for me in starting my own blog.
Vintagelollipops is a writer and lives in the US. She has been featured in Nylon, La Mimi and Fashionjinx to name but a few and her blog has received numerous awards from different fashion bloggers all over the world.
Everyone whose anyone in the fashion blogging world knows Vintagelollipops…..meet the stunning and ultra chic Bella Harris herself…
What made you want to start a fashion blog?
I started Vintage lollipops, because as a writer, I’m always searching for various creative outlets to plug in to. So, I coupled my love of storytelling with the art of fashion… hoping for a sincere and personalized representation of all my daily musings.
How would you describe your style?
I’m sure I sound like a repeat offender when I say this, but I never limit myself to one stationary approach when it comes to styling and accessorizing, because I’d rather be an activist to all the endless possibilities. For me, it’s really about trial and error – individualizing myself from others, incorporating vintage silhouettes with key-pieces in my existing wardrobe, and ultimately feeling confident in my skin no matter what I’m wearing.
Whose style do you admire?
One of my favorite style icons of all-time is Gwyneth Paltrow as Margot Tenenbaum, an offbeat prodigy playwright with flawless taste and an attitude to match. And lately, every time I watch an episode of The Ghost Whisperer, I find myself wishing I owned everything in Melinda Gordon’s never-ending closet.
Name your five all-time favorite fashion items.
Honestly, my favorite fashion items are one in the same with my approach towards style, they’re always shifting. Despite the fact that it might very well border on impossible when it comes to tapering such a lengthy and well-crafted list, I admit, I’m currently infatuated with vintage rhinestone necklaces, platforms will always be an outfit staple, the moody edge of sharp shoulders, whimsical gossamer detailing, and the adaptability of minimalistic designs.
What is the best thing you have learned from having a fashion blog?
Besides the copious amounts of time, effort, and dedication that actually goes into maintaining a blog, one of the greatest things I’ve discovered is that are a lot of amazing and highly admirable people out there.
Bella’s blog is filled with fashion, incredible DIYs and pictures of her amazing style, but above all she has huge heart and that’s what makes Bella a fearless fashionista.
