I love colour, but I have to admit to having a pretty large dose of black in my wardrobe. And if I’m not feeling terribly pretty,I’ll always opt for a black something or other.
I do however agree with Trinny and Susannah – we women wear way too much black. And its, well, boring.
You’ve no doubt heard about wearing the right clothes for your ‘season’. You can find out what season you are here on Color Me Beautiful. I’m apparently an autumn, which is pretty true.
I do however like to experiment a bit with colour, and found the best way to determine whether a colour suits me is by holding it up to my face in good natural light. If I glow, my eyes ‘pop’ and my dark circles are less pronounced, I have a winner. The main thing is not to be scared. Colour can make you look thinner, younger and healthier…which are 3 things a wouldn’t sneeze at.
You should have an idea of what colours suit you by the way people comment about how lovely you look in a particular colour. For me that’s usually ruby red or maroon – reds with a cool edge. No colours are off limits – it’s the hue that’s important. And remember, that if you really love a colour but it’s not particularly well suited to your colouring, wear it with some of your perfect matches, and wear it away from your face (as a skirt, belt, pair of shoes or pair of pants).
