Girls are made of sugar and spice and all things nice. And all their dreams come true at the ghd Style Lounge! My friend Catey and I were sincerely pampered and spoilt last week; this is what we got up to…

It really did feel like a dream come true, as we were welcomed by the friendly ghd staff and escorted into the dazzling Roodebloem Studios in Woodstock. The studio was incredibly well set out and buzzing with make-up artists, hairdressers, photographers and girls all in high spirits. Yummy snacks included crackers with smoked salmon, mini quiches, champagne and Lindt chocolate balls… divine!

The delicious treats… (before Catey and I arrived to fill our tummies)

Once we had sampled all the food, it was time to have our make-up done by the ladies from Benefit (the number one make-up brand in the UK). Benefit was only launched in South Africa two years ago, and thank goodness it was! It feels and looks fantastic, plus there is a product for every girl’s needs.

You’ll note my limp, frizzy hair in this picture. Wait until you see it after the ghd stylists had their way with me, pretty impressive.

Thank you to Rene, my hairdresser, for proving to me that my hair can curl as I have never managed to style my hair this way. She used the ghd IV Styler along with ghd’s Creation Spray. For more information on all the ghd products go to www.ghdhair.com.

Before returning to the snack table, we took a few fun pictures of ourselves. There were heaps of accessories available for us to amuse ourselves with. How extraordinary are those silver gloves? The studio was super trendy because we could take the photos ourselves with a small remote control. Naturally, as there was no photographer we had the chance to let go and take some really silly photos, I cannot wait to see them.

The ghd Style Lounge was such an amazing experience. We left feeling beautiful, blessed and perhaps a little more famous than when we arrived. Thank you ghd, Benefit and Stylescoop!
