Shirts revamped

The standard men’s button-down shirt is a wardrobe saviour. Raid your boyfriend’s or husband’s (or even dad’s) cupboard and grab a comfy, oversized shirt.

I like to wear mine as a slouchy shirt dress, belted and casual. It’s also great with leggings and super chic as a beach cover-up. The belt is essential to tame that volume and give you some shape and the best idea is to roll up the sleeves. That way everyone will know you’re wearing an oversized shirt… and not think that you are actually oversized!

If your man is much, much bigger than you and you drown in his shirts, get yourself to a standard department store, like Woolies and find a smaller men’s shirt. Wash it a few times, and “hey-presto!”, the perfect shirt dress!

There is also the alternative of buying a woman’s shirt dress (and there are many of them around). I just like a men’s shirt more – it’s a different cut which makes it slouchier and it’s a more masculine, which suits me better.
