A Life In Style – Home Office Inspiration

Im so excited! Eeeeek, I can barely contain myself – calm down, calm down, calm down. Ok, whew, I’m back…

Last week my hubby and I put in an offer for our very first, free standing home – no more complex living for us – happy dance-. Well, without jumping the gun, everything seems to be signed, sealed and (almost) delivered and if all goes as plan, we’ll be making the big move soon.

It’s an old home, but a homey one and one that we’ll have so much fun fixing up. He’s planning what he’s going to break down and I’m planning what I’m going to fix up, but not walls, more like buy new furniture and revamp the space! Men are from Mars, women from Venus. I’ve given myself three places to start…

  1. The Entrance Hall as it’s a focal point and needs to look inviting
  2. My “Carrie Closet” – Ill explain later, and
  3. My Office

My current home office is very bright and while I do love it, I’ve had it this way for a while now and need something new. So, for my new space I’m thinking something more minimalistic, something all white with splashes of subtle colour and here’s my inspiration.

Of course my “Keep Calm and Carry On” poster is going to be the first thing in my new office, so everything is being chosen based on my mint green canvas print.

My old desk (I say this as I write from it right now) is dark, ebony wood, but it’s built in so I guess a new one is a must. Unless of course my husband decides to re-build one for me (arh)

I love (but definitely cannot afford) this classic contemporary desk from @home.

Ahh, there’s NOTHING more exciting than starting a new design project from scratch, can’t wait to see the finished product!
