The fashion industry have been speculating about who’s taking over from Christophe Decarnin’s at Balmain for weeks. Finally the fashion label have announced that Olivier Rousteing will succeed Decarnin.
This relatively unknown designer has the industry in a tizz. Mostly because not much is known about him. One thing all the blogs can agree on, he’s very good-looking.
What the sleuth-like skills of fashion journalists have uncovered though is that Olivier was previously in charge of the women’s wear, a job he’s held since 2009. He’s also worked alongside Roberto Cavalli for several years and can speak several languages according to his LinkedIn page.
It may be a while before more is known about Olivier. He is reported to not be giving any interviews until after his first collection is debuted in Paris later this year. Something many fashionistas will be looking forward to.
