Over the years, the Christmas sweater has gone from the cringe-worthy gift from your gran to the satirical outfit choice for the hip. Now it’s become the hottest fashion accessory.
Fourteen British brands have teamed up with Wool and the Gang to create custom Christmas sweaters. The sweaters will then be auctioned off for the charity Save The Children. And here’s another piece of good(will) news: it’s the lowest bid that will win the items in question. Which means for a miniscule amount you can be celebrating the festive season in a piece by Alexander McQueen, Vivienne Westwood, Burberry, Paul Smith or Matthew Williamson.
The collection, which also includes pieces by House of Holland and Anya Hindmarch, will be displayed at Westfield London later this month. Keen buyers have until Friday, the 13 December to place their bid. To find out more visit www.christmasjumperday.org.
