New “Everyday” Foundation Routine

My everyday foundation routine changes from time to time.

Since I am a beauty blogger, I get exposed to a lot of really cool new products, making it rather difficult to stick to one brand and one foundation routine.

I thought I’d share my current, “everyday” foundation routine with you guys as I’ve been trying, testing and loving a few new products right now…

I still have my absolute favourite foundations, like MAC Studio Fix, Chanel Vitalumiere, Makeup Forever HD, Chanel Perfection Lumiere and Estee Lauder Maximum Cover, but for every day, and for the time being at least, I’m loving the all new L’Oreal Infallible 24H Foundation!

It’s really impressed me! I have used the old Infallible foundation, which I found to be a little thick and pasty, and I also couldn’t get any of the colours to match.

But this new formula, with a Hydrating Hyaluron Complex, and “extreme hold pigments” has really improved the product. Now the foundation goes on a lot smoother, blends beautifully and lasts a really long time. Plus for me, the colour range is more up my (olive skin toned) alley!

I’m using a combination of the shade Honey (235) and Amber (300) and the result is a perfect match! I found the best way to apply it is with my damp Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge.

For a “drugstore” brand, it’s a truly amazing foundation! The coverage is flawless and doesn’t dry out the skin.

The range comes in seven shades, and each one retails for R209.95.

Revlon is another drugstore brand that has impressed me with their Photoready Concealer.

I use this over my foundation to conceal under my eyes, nose and cover up blemishes. I just apply it with the applicator, straight onto the skin, then use the other end of my sponge to dab it in.

It works beautifully and it’s really handy to keep in your bag as well, since it wont spill all over the place.

It comes in three shades; Light Medium, Medium (my colour) and Medium Deep. Each one retails for R139.00.

I’ve never (ever) been a huge fan of powder!

But, I do realise the importance of powder to “set” your makeup. However, all the powders I had used in the past, equaled dry, flaky, cakey skin, so I just went without and hoped for the best!

Then, by pure chance, I tried out Inglot’s HD Illuminizing Loose Powder, and now I’m a full on powder addict!

This stuff is beyond amazing! It’s super (as in super) silky and has thousands of light reflecting pigments (not sparkle), that leave your skin looking “alive”. It blends like a dream, and seriously, you don’t feel as though your skin is suffocating.

I actually forget that I’m wearing powder! The fact that it sets and holds my makeup is just the cherry on top of making my skin look amazing!

I lightly dust it all over my entire face, focusing more on the T-Zone area and blending outwards, using my Real Techniques Powder Brush.

It comes in five shades (mine’s 44) and each one retails for R289.00.

Then, last but not least, another amazing powder (yup powder again) product that I got to try out from LCN.

It’s their pretty LCN BB Powder in the shade “Matchmaker”.

Besides the super cute packaging , this is a really great pressed powder. I like to keep in my handbag for on-the-go.

It’s soft, silky and the colours blended together create a gorgeous, natural finish on your face.

I like to apply it using my Real Techniques Buffing Brush, that comes in the Core Collection set.

LCN BB Powder in Matchmaker retails for R435, and if you’re quick you may just get it on sale for R348 here.

Have you tried any of these products before?

I’d love to know your thoughts! Comment below!

Glad you found it helpful Cam. LCN is a pretty cool brand, think it used to only be sold in salons, but you can buy online from them as well. They also have the most incredible nail polishes!

I didnt know one could get Real Techniques brushes here! Would you be able to tell us where to find them please?

Hi Viv. Sorry, they are not available in South Africa. I got all of mine from overseas – sent from family in the US, bought while I was in the UK. I did buy some from Amazon though, so you can try there. Otherwise, I’ve included links on the brush names for stores that sell them online. Good Luck
