Living in South Africa, where we are a season behind, is both a blessing and a curse.
We see the latest trends happening in the Northern Hemisphere, but we have to wait months before we can get to wear them, which can get a bit annoying.
But on the plus side, we can prepare our wardrobe and invest in pieces that will take us through two seasons. Think of it as though we get an inside look at the the following trends ahead.
Today, I wanted to share some of the looks, hot off the Burberry Womenswear Autumn/Winter 2015 runway. These looks were showcased in London, on the 23rd February 2015, and although we’re just going into winter 2014 (in terms of trends), at least we can see what trends will be big for the following winter when it hits in the Northern Hemisphere in December this year.
Titled, “Patchwork, Pattern & Prints“, this collection features paisley and floral bohemian prints, inspired by Durham quilts, patchwork prints as well as animal and camouflage printed lace.
Burberry also introduces The Bucket Bag, The Long Fringe Scarf in check cashmere, the Ponytail boot and The Burberry Round Shades collection of sunglasses.
So, what items should you invest in THIS winter that you can wear NEXT winter too?
Pieces that have a 70’s vibe with crazy, OTT prints that clash and make magnificent combinations. Fringe, tassles, velvet and Capes, are still a big hit! I’ll have some “Cape” picks up for you guys soon, so keep an eye out.
