2 Reasons To Be At Sandton City This Weekend

I generally avoid malls on the weekend, but tomorrow is an exception, because there are two very reasonable reasons why you should be at Sandton City this weekend! Of course, my reasons are URBAN DECAY and YSL Beauty…

Let’s start with the really exciting one for tomorrow, Urban Decay, who will officially open their doors for the very first time in South Africa! That’s right, all your Naked dreams will soon be a reality! That is, if you can head out to Sandton City. If you can’t, better start making those travel arrangements now!

Last night, I attended the official launch party and let me tell you gals, this is one of T-H-E most exciting makeup brands to hit our shores! I’m talking bold, beautiful makeup that will have you creating tons of looks and take your makeup playtime to a whole new level of fun! Plus, they have toned down makeup options too, so don’t let my attraction to the more bolder products steer you away! But trust me when I say, you will go crazy, either way!

The first URBAN DECAY store opens at 10am tomorrow morning, and it is situated on the upper level of Sandton City, on the back side of Stuttafords (close to MAC, Dior and Chanel Makeup). But be warned, with this level of excitement, you can bet your bottom dollar that there will be tons of crazed fans going crazy to get their paws on all the pretty goodies.

Besides the awesomeness of the brand itself, as an official welcome to SA, Urban Decay will be rewarding their first 100 customers, by giving one of them a chance to take home a goodie bag filled Urban Decay goodies worth a whopping R10 000! That’s a whole lot more reason to make sure you get a good night’s rest tonight, and rush off to Sandton City as soon as their doors open tomorrow!

Although the Urban Decay store will only open at 10am, if you want to make the first 100 customer cut, you’d better get there early! I heard on social media that girls are already planning their camping expedition outside Sandton City! Go girls!

If you make the store launch and excitement gets the better of you, leaving you in a spin about what to buy, here’s what you should check out…

I’m obsessed with the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray, of course my Naked 3 Palette as well as the Urban Decay Primer Potion are all gold! And their single eyeshadows are insane! I love, love, love ABC Gum which is the perfect crease shade for all you olive skinned girls like me! Then Woodstock is a beautiful, insane bold pink and FIREBALL is a shimmery soft peach with a touch of pink!

Now onto reason number two to be at Sandton City tomorrow…

While you’re waiting in anticipation for URBAN DECAY to open in South Africa, the YSL Beauty Boutique, which is situated practically next door, is another stop you must add on your list! It opened at Sandton City last week, and it is all kinds of luxuriously beautiful! You simply must check it out!

I would go with a friend, get her to stand in the Urban Decay line while you browse the YSL Beauty Boutique and then switch positions – everybody wins!

At YSL you HAVE to try out the amazing Touche Eclat, YSL’s iconic highlighter pen! It comes in six shades, making it suitable for all South African skin tones. Personally, I think when you use it as it was meant to be used, as a highlighter (not a concealer) and you are caucasian, number 1 is number 1! Check out this video on this post to see how to use it properly and then tell me you don’t love it!

Their foundation, LE Teint Touche Eclat is amazing and gives you flawless, natural coverage that looks and feels like skin! And you HAVE to touch and feel the YSL Top Secrets Universal Makeup Remover Balm-in-oil – it’s gorgeous! I need it!

Then, when it comes to colour, YSL have the most vivid and gorgeous nail polish selection (I’m obsessed with Violine Surrealiste) as well as lovely lipsticks and glosses (love, love, love Rouge Pur Couture in no 7 and no 49).

YSL-LE-VESTIARE-DES-PERFUMES

Also worth a check out is the LE VESTIARE DES PERFUMES collection. Five, out of this world fragrances, each created to represent an item from the iconic Yves Saint Laurent clothing collection. I love them all, but I’m so incredibly drawn to CAFTAN.

Happy Shopping!
