The trick with getting through the cold winter months, is having the right gear! I thought my winter wardrobe was pretty well curated, until I discovered that it was missing the ultimate winter must have – a fluffy, warm and totally gorgeous beanie!
I bought this beaut of a beanie this weekend and have fallen in love with it. Its from a Polish Brand, called Starling and besides being such a gorgeous and cute piece, its the real deal beanie, made in Poland.
Now, I’ve never been to Poland, but being a cold and snow winter country, they would know a thing or two about making headgear that keeps you warm. While it doesn’t snow here in SA, our winters are pretty icy, and this weekend’s cold front was proof that the right head gear is a necessity.
Mine is called the Noora Trapper and it came in a bunch of colours, although I nabbed the last pink and grey one (sorry gals). It’s incredibly warm and I am so in love with it, I want to get it in more colours too. Besides keeping you warm, the quality is amazing! The faux fur pom poms and edges are so soft, you’d be fooled into thinking it was real fur.
I found this brand at Cape Union Mart and am heading back there today to stock up on more. They ain’t cheap (between R500-R600) but they were on sale, so instead of paying R450 for mine, I scored it at R299. Not bad considering how well made and high quality these hats are.
Ill definitely pack it on our next trip up Sani Pass.

I went and bought a knitted beanie with a little pom pom from the same brand and I love them! The faux fur is incredibly soft and so well made 🙂
