The Spring Wishlist

One more day until we officially kiss winter goodbye! Are you excited for Spring? I sure am! No more dry, static air in Joburg – yay!

For the spring of 2017 there’s a couple of things that I’ve got on my radar. I’m mostly looking forward to being lightweight in terms of makeup, when I sleep (no more thick blankets!) and of course in my handbag load…

H&M Cotton Pyjamas

Last year, I bought a similar PJ set in blue with white stripe and I practically lived in it all spring/ summer long. It’s such a great, lightweight PJ set for warmer weather and it has that really cute, easy breasy look.

This season, I really want to add the pink one to my collection. I don’t know what it is about PJ’s or PJ sets, but I think they are a must.

Is it just me?

Price: R299 for the set

Viva La Juicy Glacé by Juicy Couture

I don’t know what I love more about this fragrance; the soft delicate “frozen notes” or that oh-so-fluffy pink cap.

It’s the perfect scent to welcome spring, kind of like a long sip of a chilled drink and the crisp crackling of breaking ice.

It launches in South Africa on the 18th September and if you’re a lover of Juicy Couture, you’ll want to add this to your wishlist.

It opens with sparkling top notes of Frozen Italian Mandarin, Frosted Cassis Leaves and Lush Pear Sorbet to give you that instant icy crush. In the heart, Jasmine Sambac combine with Jasmine De Grasse and radiant Orange Blossom notes, while the dry down notes of Vanilla and Milky Sandalwood finish off the scent.

Pretty to look at and even prettier to smell!

Price: R1195 for 100ml Eau De Parfum Spray, or R895 for 50ml EDP.

Mimco Backpack

I’m all for hands-free hand bags and I especially love bags that are multi-functional. That, and I’ve been on the hunt for a stylish backpack that’s not typically sporty looking.

So, when I saw this cute little Estate Backpack at Mimco the other day it was everything I had been looking for. Now I want it, I need it!

The thing I love about this backpack is that it’s petite and the fact that it can be worn as a backpack, shoulder or cross body bag makes it simply genius! As I mentioned it’s petite, so you’re not going to fit the whole kitchen sink in it, but for my everyday essentials it’s perfect.

For those days when I’m launching in CapeTown, I can roam the airport without feeling like I’m overloaded all while looking effortless.

Price: R2 299.00 from Mimco at Woolworths

MAC Strobe Cream

For spring time skin I’m all about the glow and these two Strobe Creams from MAC are on my radar!

Before MAC launched “all the colours” I had tried out the only, pinky shade, and while I liked the “glow factor”, the pink tones didn’t really work for my olive complexion.

So the other day at MAC I sampled the Strobe Cream in Gold Light and Peach Light and loved them both!

Do I need them both? Probably not, but hey this is a wish list, so a girl can dream!

I love how they add radiance to the skin without leaving chunky sparkle on the surface, and when you blend them with your foundation, you get a lighter, dewier look, which is perfect for spring!

Price: R470 each for 50ml

Zara Floral Print Sneakers

Oh floral embroidered sneakers! Oh, oh, oh! So many brands have jumped on the floral sneaker bandwagon after Gucci launched their floral embroidered sneakers last year.

Actually the Ace GUCCI low tops were on my Hello September wishlist last year and that’s where they stayed!

If you know the GUCCI collection, the Ace pair launched with a floral pair as well and they are still so lusty, but we’re realists – or at least I am – so I’ve taken le expectation down a notch!

In October last year, I lusted for these Converse x PatBo Chuck Taylor All Stars and I’m so sorry I didn’t get them. They were limited so I’ll likely never see them again!

Moving on! I still love this trend because I live in sneakers. Really it’s bad – my heels are covered in dust, but my sneakers are getting a good run.

Which means, I need to add floral something to my footwear collection and these ZARA babies are just the thing!

Price: R559.00

Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Gel Touch Foundation

Oh yes please! Ever since I tried the Lancome Cushion foundation last year, I’ve been obsessed with “cushion” types of foundations. They are so easy to apply, great for on-the-go and the compact can be replaced.

Also the coverage is so freaking good and my skin looks like skin, just more flawless and radiant.

Last month, Chanel launched their Les Beiges Healthy Glow Gel Touch Foundation, which is an aqua-gel formulation that leaves a lightweight finish on the skin. I don’t know if the coverage is as good as the Lancome Cushion, but Les Beiges from Chanel is one of my bestie foundations so I have very high expectations for this one.

Can’t wait to try it out!

Price: R990 available in 10 shades
