New Chanel Ink Fusion Lips & ULTRA Le Teint Velvet Foundation

There have been a lot of exciting new launches from Chanel and I’m excited to share a few of them with you today.

First up, let’s talk lips and CHANEL has added some gorgeous new shades and textures to the beautiful Chanel ROUGE ALLURE INK range.

If you’re not familiar with Chanel Rouge Allure Ink, it’s basically Chanel’s (amazing) version of liquid lipsticks. I tried them when they launched in 2016 and was instantly in love with the formula, of course the packaging and how they didn’t leave my lips dried or messy – which is often the case with liquid lipsticks.

Not only have they added new colours to the range, but Chanel have also added some new texture variants including a new matte and new metallic variety, PLUS a really exciting, seriously OTT, colour saturated new va-va-voom version which I got to try and love, love, love!

Ok so, on my picture on the left you’ll see that hot shade. And I do mean HOT! That’s the new va-va-voom version from the CHANEL ROUGE ALLURE INK FUSION range and mine is in the colour Rose Rouge which is the most vibrant lip colour ever! Even better, it feels like I’m wearing nothing, it’s so lightweight and infuses with the lips to give you an instant pop!

It looks almost identical to the ROUGE ALLURE INK range, but INK Fusion has a completely black cap (the others have a gold emblem on the top). I can’t wait to try out a few more of the 12 available shades which will be purr-fect for summer!

The next one in my pic is part of the new CHANEL ROUGE ALLURE INK collection of Metallic shades, mine’s Metallic Beige and it’s a lovely pink gold that adds the subtlest hint of sparkle on the lips – festive season perfect or what!?!

Check out the 6 shades in the Metallic collection…

And last but not least, I also got to sample one of the new Matte shades in Harmonie which is referred to as a rosewood shade, but for me, it it has the slightest hint of purple, which works perfectly with my own lip shade. To be honest when I saw this one I was sceptical of the shade, but oh my word, its gorgeous so don’t be afraid to try them all out!

Try all 6 matte shades that is…

New Chanel Foundation

Another new launch I got to sample is the Chanel Ultra Le Teint Velvet Foundation.

When this beaut landed on my desk I was super excited, especially since I loved my old Chanel Perfection Lumiere foundation so much. And this is very similar, – in fact I think it’s the same winning formula as Perfection Lumiere, but now it comes in 6 new shades and dons a new Chanel-esque name. I used to love Perfection Lumiere when I first used it around 2014 and not just the product, but also the travel friendly packaging. While I do love this new Ultra Le Teint Velvet, I can’t say it’s my numero uno foundation though. Sorry, but since I tried the new-ish Chanel Ultra Le Teint a few months back, I said then that it would be VERY difficult to find a foundation that matches up to it, and I’m sticking with that.

For me at least. Chanel Ultra Le Teint is still my favourite, favourite. It’s flawless and perfect. I dont have to worry about coverage, or longevity and it works wonders on my complexion, plus it hides and blurs out my melasma. Also since they launched the shade BD41, which has a slight yellow tint to it, it’s my everything foundation. That whole formula just works for me.

But we’re not all the same! So who knows, you may prefer the slightly less coverage and more matte finish of Chanel Ultra Le Teint Velvet as opposed to my favourite foundation which is the Chanel Ultra Le Teint (not velvet).

But let’s chat about the Chanel Ultra Le Teint Velvet foundation a bit. Coverage wise, it conceals almost everything. I think, because it maybe lacks the “glow factor” I can see my melasma easier with it, but the finish and coverage reminds me of my Perfection Lumiere foundation. The formula is lightweight and glides on really well, but you can get a more fuller coverage by applying more layers.

If you’re a fan of the old Perfection Lumiere foundation from Chanel you will no doubt love the  new Ultra Le Teint Velvet. If your skin is combo to oily, you will probably love it too. If you’re looking for more a natural-second-skin though, I’d suggest you go with my personal favorite Chanel Ultra Le Teint.

Price wise, you’re looking at R832 for a 30ml bottle of Chanel Ultra Le Teint Velvet, which is available at selected Edgars and Woolworths stores.  You can read my full feature on the Ultra Le Teint version here.

If you happen to try any of these new launches out, please pop back and leave a comment letting me know your thoughts.
