5 Things To Do Before The End Of The Year

5 Things To Do Before The End Of The Year

The end of the year is creeping up on us! Too quickly if you ask me, but anyways… With the end of a year and looking forward to a clean slate in 2018, I thought I would compile a list of things to get done before the year is up, that way you can go into the new year all shiny and new!

The Summer Reading List

The Summer Reading List

Lately, I’ve really enjoyed switching up my iPad and winding down with an actual, page turning book instead of a glowing screen. I just miss the days when books were held in your hands, and when you were reading, you wouldn’t get distracted by a pop up notifications that instantly take your attention away from the story. So I’ve made it a priority to start reading actual books again and leaving the iPad for daily “work stuff”. In that, I’ve become quite the little book worm and have gone through a couple of new releases, so I wanted to share a few picks that I loved and a few that look perfect for summer, so that you can add some new summer reads to your list.

Do Bigger Things – Joburg’s Turkish Delight

The other day, we drove past the beautiful Turkish Mosque in Midrand and it looked so pretty on the outside, we decided to take a chance and see if could go inside. What we discovered was even more magnificent than we could have ever imagined! It was like we had stepped into a whole new world!

About Last Night

About Last Night

Spring is the perfect time to catch up on some reading under the trees, and for that I’ve got the ultimate chic-lit book for you to sit back and enjoy while laying on your picnic blanket! About Last Night by Catherine Alliott follows the story of Molly, who moved from London to the country, in the hopes of chasing the dream. A dream that was never really hers, but rather her now dead husband Richards’. It may sound like it starts off somewhat sombre, but rather the story is quite the opposite. Molly’s pushing wheelbarrows, looking after her three (grown) children and animals all while living the country life struggle. Then, her luck changes when a London townhouse is left for her by a deceased family member of her late husbands. Does she leave the country and return to London? Well I’m only a few chapters in so I can’t tell you just yet, but I can tell you that the book is funny and optimistic and very easy to escape into Molly’s world! I particularly love her eccentric mother… Sneak a Peek at About Last Night By Catherine Alliott Click here to download and read chapters 1, 2 and 3 absolutely free! If…

Guest Bathroom Hacks! Tips To Ensure Your Guests Are Cozy

Guest Bathroom Hacks! Tips To Ensure Your Guests Are Cozy

Staying over at friends or family for the weekend can be fun, but it can also feel a little impersonal. Of course you’ll miss your own home, your own space and having your things at arm’s reach, but often the nuisance of having to bring all your beauty items “just in case” can become annoying. So what do you do? Make sure your guests enjoy their stay with you by turning your guest bathroom into their own little beauty sanctuary. Obviously, you don’t have to go all-out and make your guest bathroom resemble a spa or a hotel (unless you have the means and the ways), but there are a few finishing touches you can incorporate to make it a little more indulgent.

3 Small Things To Do For Yourself

3 Small Things To Do For Yourself

We take on too much. We do too much, we commit to too much and we dedicate all our time to something, or someone else. Our lives are becoming more and more crazy, and in the process we are pushing further and further away from ourselves. It’s time to stop and smell the roses! Take a time out for yourself and commit to doing 3 things that make you happy! I don’t mean buying new makeup or clothes (even though a new outfit and lipstick always helps), but little things you used to do before, that have somehow become irrelevant because they take up too much time or “they are bad for us”.

Turbocharge Your Energy Levels with Turbovite

ENERGY! Ahh if only I had more! It’s amazing how as a kid, the new year would often bring with it a clean slate – a chance to go into January with some sort of magical boost. Call me a nerd, but I used to be super amped the day before school started! I had my shiny new stationary, my scuff-free school shoes and my neatly covered, fresh notebooks ready to go, but most of all, I had so, so much energy!

Home For the Holidays

Home For the Holidays

Do you decorate your home for the holidays? I’m pretty basic, in that I usually just put up a tree, maybe a wreath on the front door and that’s about it. I know some people go all out with decor, but I’m more on the simplistic side. This season however, I’ve seen a ton of cute festive home-wear that’s inspired me to maybe take it up a notch. I’m not talking about your classic, overly shiny Christmas decor, but rather something that’s festive, without being too OTT. Something like…

Christmas Just Ain’t Christmas without Woolies

The countdown to the festive season has begun! YIKES! If you haven’t started your festive shopping, then you better get cracking! Nobody wants to spend their year end leave trawling around shopping centres hunting down their holiday find. I know that’s the last place I want to be! I’d rather be sipping on cocktails by the pool, catching a tan. After all, isn’t that what Christmas in South Africa is all about?

How To Spring Clean Your Closet, LetGo & Make Money

How To Spring Clean Your Closet, LetGo & Make Money

I have a closet room cupboard full of clothes. Yet, I’m always faced with the common dilemma of not having anything to wear. It’s not that I don’t have enough, it’s just that I have a cupboard full of things that either don’t fit, don’t suit my style, or things I just can’t get rid of because I spent too much money on them. While every girl wants a well edited collection of wearable items, Spring is the perfect time to shed the excess and start working towards that dream closet goal. By dream closet, I don’t mean one that’s floor-to-ceiling-wall-to-wall, but rather a happy place, filled with pieces of clothing and items that you would actually wear. So today, I’m going to give you a quick guide to spring cleaning your closet, show you how to LetGo and even make some money on the side. Money you can use for new items that are actually YOU, and it’s all thanks to a fun, interactive mobile shopping App called LetGo.

My Summer Mixtape

My Summer Mixtape

Remember the days when you’d create your own mixtape filled with songs you love? I remember sitting on top of the radio, with a cassette (ah ha, those good old things) ready to go and my finger eagerly on the record button. Today it’s much easier to create playlists, thanks to all the awesome music listening tools and apps available online. One that I’ve been loving lately is Spotify, and it’s an awesome way to create playlists (AKA the modern day version of a mixtape) and share it with the world. So I’ve put together a mixtape of my favourite tunes for the Summer of 2016/17. My taste in music is quite varied, and I don’t believe that I fall into any single category. I can go from listening to commercial “cheese” as some would call it, to hard rock, to metal, to 8o’s to classical music, it all just depends on my mood.
