Hooch Fox

Hooch Fox

I’m not a big drinker, but I do love a pretty drink every now and then… Have you guys seen the new Hooch Fox alcoholic drinks in store lately? Maybe you’ve already tried them out? If not, give them a bash, they are pretty cool and great for summer parties! While Hooch Fox may seem new, the brand Hooch has been around for ages! I remember it from my pee-pee joller days (in the green bottle). I loved them! I would drink Hooch and only Hooch when I used to do the whole night club thing. They were amazing then and while they’ve been re-branded, they still taste good! Hooch Fox comes in a variety of funky flavours! I got to sample Hooch Fox Strawberry and I also bought a six pack of the Mango for our bush trip last week. They were perfect for our game drive picnic stops. These alcoholic coolies are yummy to drink on their own or you can mix them with more serious stuff to create a foxy cocktail. Try the Chilli Strawberry Sting: Ingredients 150ml Hooch Fox Strawberry 25ml vodka 24ml vanilla syrup Half split chilli Method Muddle chilli in the base of a shaker, add the…

Pink Bubbly La Fleurette

Pink Bubbly La Fleurette

/ My Outfit: Sunglasses: Prada, Denim Shirt: Edgars, Floral Pants: Forever New, Black Tee: Cotton On J.C Le Roux sent me a bottle of their new Non-Alcoholic bubbly, La Fleurette, just in time for spring! Together with a fun press pack, they challenged me to create a post that would express the floral and fabulous tones of La Fleurette Non-Alcoholic. The stakes are high! As in Louboutin heels high! After popping the cork, I poured myself a glass of La Fleurette Non-Alcoholic. Sitting in my kitchen, I tried to come up with something exciting. Something unique and fun that would not only excite me and the peeps at J.C Le Roux, but also my fabulous StyleScoop readers too. I found myself staring right at the answer… my mixer! September also marks the month of StyleScoop’s fifth Blogoversary and I had been wanting to bake a birthday cake. What better opportunity? So I went with a rose inspired cake and used La Fleurette Non-Alcoholic in the ingredients. After doing some research, I discovered that “Fleurette” means “an ornament resembling a flower”, so my cake idea blossomed into a cupcake bouquet. This was really fun and easy to do. I got some tips on how to make a cupcake bouquet…

Sweet Delicous Cupcake Recipe

Sweet Delicous Cupcake Recipe

Yummy, yummy! When I got the press release for DKNY’s new Sweet Delicious fragrances, it came with an Almond Cupcake recipe from master pastry chef Johnny Iuzzini, who collaborated with DKNY on these fragrances… I decided to be stupid brave and attempt this recipe, but here’s the thing… they didn’t come out quite right. Although they still tasted darn good, they didn’t look as they should have. I had some “issues” in the kitchen, but I guess that’s what happens when you attempt a professional chef’s recipe on your first cupcake attempt! Yes, first cupcake attempt! My blog has always been about trying new things (trends, makeup looks etc) and sharing them, so even though my cupcakes did’t look like perfect little pastries, I decided to show you guys anyway instead of just giving you the recipie! Maybe on my second attempt they will look as good as they tasted, but that’s a very big maybe if I’ll try again! This recipe is very time consuming, requires lots of preparation and lots of washing up – so brace yourselves! Almond cup cake, orange curd, rose water meringue, candied kumquat, crystallized rose petals, fresh pomegranate seeds I started with the orange…

My Festive Christmas Day

My Festive Christmas Day

This year we hosted Christmas day in our new house and had (almost) the whole fam over. It was a blissful day in Durban, and we really couldn’t have asked for better weather! Sun, food, family and fun, it was the perfect Christmas day… For starters and pre-Christmas-Lunch-snacks, we did a huge cheese board. I decided to do this after seeing it at the Woolworths Christmas Media day, where they had the most amazing cheese board on display. It looked so festive and so indulgent! It was a good choice and everybody loved it! I made mine a little more Christmassy by decorating it with tinsel and LED star lights. My mom in law makes the most amazing bacon rolls and she made a whole batch for Christmas. We added these to the cheeseboard, which I think made it look even more festive! Then it was decorated with glazed fruit, grapes and I even made my own caramelized almonds. Stanta made a huge drop under our Christmas tree! After opening our presents, it was time to dig into the food. We made a huge glazed gammon (I lie, we pre-ordered it – shhhh), roast beef, two over-sized roast chickens, potato…
