Hi There

Treat Your Body

Treat Your Body

While you may not get to see much of your body in winter, it doesn’t mean you should neglect it! Here are some fabulous treats I’ve been enjoying this winter and I’m pretty certain you will too… Vaseline Intensive Care, CocoaGlow This beautiful tub of all over body cream from Vaseline smells deeeee-licious and is a god send for dry skin this winter. What makes it special is that the formula has been infused with mico-droplets of Vaseline Blueseal Petroleum Jelly. These help to unlock the natural glow of the skin, leaving it soft and beautiful! I love cocoa butter anything, and I love how my skin soaks up this non-greasy formula! Best part — it is super affordable at only R34,99 for a 350ml tub! Now that’s a bargain! PS! Whilst were on the subject of Vaseline, don’t forget to enter my Vaseline Blueseal Hamper giveaway. Entries close at noon today, so don’t miss out. SOiL Ylang-Ylang Soy Wax Melts and Sensual Hibiscus Bath Salts SOiL is a homegrown, South African brand that’s beautifully packaged, organic and affordable too! Double Cleanse

Double Cleanse

Blogging for five years (going on six) has taught me many things. One being, that no matter how expensive or how amazing the makeup, if your skin looks like crap, well, your makeup probably will too! Thankfully we live in an era where skincare-skincare-skincare has been drummed into our brains, much like that annoying “next customer please” announcement at Woolies. (You did the voice didn’t you?!). Moral of the story… Invest in good skincare, and take that extra step! One of my all time fave skincare brands, and the skincare I prefer to use on my skin, is Filorga. Every product these guys launch has made me love the brand even more. And now I have a new love since I got to sample their amazing new, Skin Perfusion Cleansing Oil. The Perfusion range has been designed to “take the salon home” if you will. So, you know those “awesome products” you get treated to at salon? Well, that’s basically Perfusion – A salon treat at home! Skin Perfusion Cleansing Oil is an oil cleanser that you apply to dry skin, and then, when you add water it turns into a deep cleansing product. It works beautifully, but since I often do crazy eyes with a ton of…

The BEST False Lashes! PLUS A Super EASY way to apply them!

The BEST False Lashes! PLUS A Super EASY way to apply them!

Happy 2014 fabulous people! I hope that you’ve all had an amazing start to the year! Today I wanted to share a new “discovery” since I am so excited to have found the perfect, most amazing pair of false lashes – like ever! For our NYE ’13 night out, I really wanted to wear false lashes – something I generally avoid since I find them such a pain-in-the-ass to apply. I normally struggle with the corners and end up just pulling them off. But this time, I was determined and not only found the best way to apply falsies, but I think I have found my very fave pair of “stick on” lashes. Eylure Naturalites strip lashes -116 give you the most natural looking lashes that enhance, and in my case (since I have a somewhat hooded eye shape), lift the eyes as well. They feel incredibly lightweight and just gave my lashes amazing length without looking as though I had huge caterpillars on my lids. I didn’t use the glue that came with the pack since I prefer the DUO lash glue, but I’m sure the one in the pack would work too. This pair of lashes cost under…

My 5 Favourite Mascaras of the Moment

My 5 Favourite Mascaras of the Moment

Mascara is just one of those things, you can never have enough of! I am constantly changing the ones I use, but I do have a few current faves and find myself using these five mascara’s the most. Here they are in no particular order of favourites, since I love them all – just as much and for different reasons… Lancôme Hypnôse Star This is a fantastic everyday mascara for me. What I like is how it evens out my lashes and makes them look more defined. It also adds just enough length for every day wear. It keeps my lashes spaced out, coating and defining each one individually. The formula lasts all day and doesn’t run at all – so again, a perfect, every day mascara and I love the curved tube and sparkle on it. Lancôme Hypnôse Drama I’ve had my Hypnose Drama mascara for ages. Surprisingly, I’ve had it since March last year (when I reviewed it on StyleScoop) and although I don’t use it every day, it hasn’t dried out in nearly two years – that’s pretty impressive. This mascara is fab for giving my lashes length and fabulous volume. I absolutely love the wand – it’s…

[Closed] A Second Chance to WIN With DOVE Intensive Hair Repair

[Closed] A Second Chance to WIN With DOVE Intensive Hair Repair

So, last month we ran a fabulous competition with DOVE, giving one lucky StyleScoop reader a six month’s supply of their Intensive Hair Repair range. We had loads of entries, and Vicky Sofilas from Durban was randomly selected as the winner! Well done Vicky! If you’re feeling all sad that it wasn’t your name that was drawn, DOVE has given us another hamper to give away to one other lucky StyleScoop reader! YAY! Another six month’s supply of the DOVE Intensive Hair Repair range could be yours! This includes the shampoo, conditioner, daily treatment conditioner as well as the mask! I’ve been using mine since mid July and kinda love this range! I honestly think that the DOVE hair products are affordable and offer great results! I also loved their Nourishing Oil Care range, which I reviewed last year and have used since. I do feel that I owe the DOVE Deep Repair Treatment Mask a shout out. I absolutely love this product! My hair looks super shiny and is so manageable, I almost can’t believe it! Having pin straight hair that gets greasy quickly, I don’t like using treatment products as I find them to create too much buildup. However, this product gives my…

An Intense Shock Wave of Seduction! We Review The New Le Volume De Chanel Mascara

An Intense Shock Wave of Seduction! We Review The New Le Volume De Chanel Mascara

This week sees the launch of a fabulous, intense new mascara from one of my favourite make-up houses, Chanel! Le Volume De Chanel coats each lash beautifully from root to tip, to give you lush, longer lashes in an instant! You can enjoy bigger, bolder, more defined lashes with a wide-open eye effect. Absolutely what the doctor ordered! It comes in three beautiful shades; 10 Noir, 20 Bleu and 30 Prune! And each one retails for R355.00 I got to sample the gorgeous, thick and blackest-black, Noir and it’s currently my number one Mascara of the moment! I have normal length lashes, but they are sparse, which means I cannot live without mascara. Le Volume De Chanel takes them from blah to beautiful, quickly coating each lash with high volume and definition. The new Le Volume De Chanel features an all new brush and formula. The patented “Snowflakes” brush is composed of stacked disks with a dual injection process which helps to add volume and va–va–voom to the lash. It has a combination of long, stiff bristles and shorter soft bristles that work together to open up the eye! The long bristles even out the product, allowing you to coat each lash individually, while the shorter bristles lengthen and separate each…

unBBelievable! We Test Rimmel’s new BB Cream

unBBelievable! We Test Rimmel’s new BB Cream

So what do you guys think of BB Cream? I must be honest, this is only the second BB cream product I’ve tried and so far, I love BB Creams (click to here to see the other BB product I’ve tried, tested and loved). This February, RIMMEL launches their BB cream, marketed as a product with 9-in-1 superpowers! Bringing makeup and skincare together in one tube, RIMMEL BB cream claims to prime, moisturize, minimise pores, protect the skin, conceal, cover, smoothe, mattify and brighten the skin. Available in 3 shades; Light, Medium and Medium/Dark, with an added SPF of 25, this beauty balm is all about the natural makeup effect. It’s lightweight and doesn’t feel like makeup. Because I live in Durbs (by the sea) where it’s generally hot and humid, I often feel as though my makeup is melting! I hate that feeling, you know, where you’re too scared to give someone a hug in the fear that your face might end up on their shoulder! Ya, you know what I’m talking about! Granted, its only 25 degrees here today, so not as hot as it normally is, but I’ve been wearing RIMMEL BB Cream on my face all…

Beauty Review SOiL Sensational Hibiscus

Beauty Review SOiL Sensational Hibiscus

I’m kinda obsessed with beautiful scented candles and all that yummy stuff! I guess you could say I love making my home smell like a day spa! Mmmm! I recently go this awesome press pack in the mail from local organic skin-care brand, SOiL and couldn’t wait to shoot and share it with my lovely StyleScoop readers! They sent me some goodies from their new Sensual Hibiscus range. One of the items was their cute and clever SOiL Sensual Soy Wax Melts! They are little soy melts that you put in an oil burner and enjoy. No more having to pour messy oils into burners, these babies melt like a dream and make your entire space smell amazing! The thing that really got my tail wagging was their Electric Burner. It’s a ceramic oil burner that uses electricity to heat up the oil. So instead of burning tea light candles, you just plug it in, flick a switch and enjoy the fragrance that filters into your space. It’s the perfect way to enjoy sensational scents without the risk of burning down your house! This is a great gadget, plus it looks really spa-like and stylish. All it needs is to be fitted with a 60w bulb – energy savers wont work as they don’t produce enough heat – so bear…

We’ve Partnered with Filorga!

We’ve Partnered with Filorga!

Since using their amazing Time Filler wrinkle correcting cream, I’ve really become hooked on French Skincare brand Filorga. I am super stoked to be partnering with them for the next six months, as my skincare brand. So, for the upcoming months expect to find out more about Filorga’s range of Skincare, as I’ll be trying and testing out new products. This month I’ve got three awesome products to share with you. I’ll get into each product review as I go along, giving you my thoughts and opinions on it. This is a wonderful partnership, because unlike a simple “review” I am going to be featuring and reviewing products that are targeted to my personal skin profile, and not necessarily something that’s “new” on the market. I’ve been using mostly Filorga products, with the exception of one or two specialized products from other Skincare brands, and although it’s only been two weeks or so, my skin is looking fantastic!I am really impressed with their Derma-C product… Stay tuned for my review on that one coming up first. In the meantime be sure it check out www.filorgasouthafrica.co.za to find out more about Filorga, their range and local stockists.
