Black & White Floral Skirt – It’s Banana!

Black & White Floral Skirt – It’s Banana!

I’m excited to be bringing you my second look with Stuttafords today, and it’s a look that has me going Bananas! Lately, I’m all about skirts and Banana Republic has such amazing ones in beautiful black and white! It doesn’t get better than this! To be honest, I’ve never found high-low skirts to be very appealing. They are always too short in front and too long or again too short at the back and just look weird. But then, along came this Banana Republic skirt and I’m totally obsessed with it! It fits so beautifully and the cut is universally flattering. Plus it also has pockets – perfect for that street style look, and it can be worn in so many ways! I decided to stick with black and white for this lookbook, but this skirt would also look amaze with a pair of cute sandals and a crop top, or a pair of lace up boots (yes, you heard me) and a denim shirt tucked in for a bit of an edgier look that’s still fun and feminine. I’m wearing it with another great piece, also from Banana Republic – a gorgeous sheer black top that is once again,…

Add A Graphic Impact With Your Accessories

Black and white is anything but basic! It’s a style staple and in today’s scoop, I’ll show you some bold black and white trends from DUNE London to make your look catwalk ready! Are ya ready? Put your feet into one of these beauties… Although all white heels are a hot trend right now, I just can’t see myself getting past the mental block I have with white shoes. But I can still (almost) wear the trend with these beautiful black Alehsa pumps with an elegant white toe cap! Wear these with black trousers and a fitted white jacket. Or destroyed boyfriend jeans, cuffed at the ankle, with a crisp white jacket over a white blouse. Now these Carys are the business! I love a little animal peeking out and how darn good do these look? I mean! Whoa! I can’t think of one outfit in my closet that wouldn’t go perfectly with them. And I really love these Harmony strappy heels. They remind me of the bandage/ bodycon dress but for your feet. That dress has the power to make your curves look great – so imagine what bandage/body heels can do for your legs! Wrap your arms around these babes… No doubt you’ve heard me mention the…

It’s all Black and White! Monochrome Madness

It’s all Black and White! Monochrome Madness

If there is one massive trend that will take us through the whole of 2013, it’s monochrome. We’ve seen it on the runways in Paris, New York and Milan, and the trend works well for most major seasons, S/S and A/W. Easily put, monochrome in fashion is simply mixing white and black in your outfit. It can be achieved in one of two ways; blocking the white and black and adding white or black accessories OR using a white and black pattern on one or both halves of your body. I do recommend that the prints you opt to use for the monochrome trend should be structured prints; such as stripes, hounds tooth, herringbone, or polka dots. I don’t think black and white prints like floral and paisley work well at all. Look how these bloggers are rocking the monochrome trend… Sydne from Sydne Style | Chiara from from The Blonde Salad | Local lovely, Carlin from Superficial Girls. Getting the look is easy! Mr Price, which IMO is by far the most fabulous low-cost retailer, has some really amazing items that you can use to make up your monochrome ensembles. I’ve always lived by the principle of paying big…

TWIST tells the black and white story

TWIST tells the black and white story

Our super guest blogger and Stylist, Kim Gray was recently invited, on behalf of StyleScoop to attend the launch of the 2009 Twist range by Woolworths.  Here is what she had to say, together with some fab pics of up and coming styles… This black and white story came alive at the Twist Winter 2009 launch, held at the V&A Woolworths Wine bar…. Frills and bows seemed to be the order of the day, with tailored military styled coats. Stylists and editors were invited to look and feel their way through the range and even pre – book garments for their up and coming winter fashion shoots.
