Angelic Engelsrufer

When I was younger, I wanted to have stuff. Lots and lots of stuff! Cupboards full of clothes, shoes and handbags -in every style and colour- and a jewellery collection that was overflowing like Ali Baba’s Cave. The older wiser I got, the more I realised it’s not about having more, but rather about collecting beautiful pieces slowly, so that I can surround myself with the things that I love! When it comes to my jewellery collection now, I have a smaller, but far more beautiful collection than ever, and each piece makes me feel special in its own way. I am by no means a dainty girl -or a dress girl for that matter- but my angelic Engelsrufer Ceramic Wing and Soundball Pendant has made me want to explore this side of my personality – and I do love it! It’s got that whole boho vibe going on, but more on the free spirited, dream catcher side than the pattern crazy bohemain. Like my ombre hair, the boho trend will never be over for me!

Wanderlust Traveler

One of the things on my bucket list for 2016 (can you believe it’s nearly 2016!!!!) is to go on an open road trip, exploring our beautiful country. Sure, we’ve done “road trips” before, but they are usually to-and-from trips rather than an actual road trip; where you stop along the way, find yourself in some random, beautiful spot and discover what lies ahead. This gorgeous pair of hippie/ boho/ just plain awesome pants from Old Khaki give me that free spirited feeling, and they are super comfy making them perfect travel pants. I love everything about them. The colour, the wide leg, the fit, the pattern, the whole tribal/ bohemian contrast going on at the bottom – just everything! They are so versatile and can be worn with just about anything, but for this look, I wanted to keep the whole wanderlust/ boho/ free spirited theme going, so I paired them with a pretty, white boho blouse and some of my fave semi-precious accessories. Late Afternoon (outfit of the day)

After that insane heatwave, I never thought I’d see green grass in Jozi. But after a week of beautiful, blissful rain, summer gardens are starting to look the part. I thought I’d take advantage of the beautiful weekend weather we had to show you gals my new, favourite piece of clothing. The gorgeous, Safar Ladies Suede Jacket from Old Khaki. Bohemian Garden Party with Lucozade Pink Lemonade

If given the chance, what would you do over in pink and with energy? Out in Africa! My “Safari Outfit” and our Adventure in the Bush

I’ve just returned from the most incredible bush adventure! Four days out in Africa, getting up close and personal with all her beautiful creatures, just roaming around a few inches from the protection of our Landrover. Before our trip, I popped into Old Khaki (of course) to pick out some bush-ready, summer-ready and style savvy pieces and I couldn’t resist this gorgeous fringed Cardi. Isn’t it just the cutest summer cover-up? It was perfect for our evening game drives! Since I had bush veld on the brain, by pure stroke of luck and perfect timing, I also found this floppy bush hat while I was there, which was just the cherry on top! It will defs become my bush adventure staple from now on! I wore it on almost every game drive and it kept me cool, protected from the sun and thanks to the little drawstring I didn’t lose it. And the colour… perfecto! Look at that frrrrriiiinge! Obsessed! We had such a blast! This was part of our group racing to catch the lioness before she moved away on our last game drive evening. Let’s Shop Summer at Old Khaki

I love collab-ing with Old Khaki to bring you gals my favourite in-store picks every month. With summer on the way, I’m done winter shopping and so excited with the summer selection on offer this month. I’m in love with everything I bought, and although it may not “go together” as one outfit, I know that these pieces will get a lot of wear this summer. So what did I buy? First up, these beautiful espadrilles I mentioned in yesterday’s post. I friggin love them! I don’t own a pair of espadrilles (until now) and seriously, I don’t know where they have been all my life. They are T-H-E comfiest shoes ever, and I love the faded blue and white stripe on the Rare Earth Bailey Espadrilles. Definitely a summer essential! These will be great for casual weekend wear, road trips and travel. Next up, a bright, fun cami for summer… You gals know I’m all boho-friggin-crazy, so there was no way I could resist this bright, beautiful and certainly eye catching cami. Burberry Bucket Bag – The New “It Bag”

Another bag to covert, and this time its Burberry’s latest “it bag”- The Bucket Bag! Earlier this month, twelve styles of the Burberry Bucket Bags were pre-launched in twelve Burberry flagship stores in London, Paris, Milan, Barcelona, Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Vancouver, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing and Osaka. The Bucket Bag was introduced during the brand’s Autumn/Winter 2015 womenswear show; inspired by the bohemian spirit of the collection, and crafted in soft English suede, graphic animal print shearling and tiered fringing. Boho Ink… Metallic Tattoos

Metallic, foil tattoos are the hottest trend this summer, and being a little (make that very) boho inspired, I’m totally obsessed with them! You can find them pretty much everywhere, and everyone’s wearing them, but my faves have got to be from Lulu Dk. Lulu DK is an international designer that has traveled the world for inspiration. Her designs include wall coverings bed linen, fabric and leather, as well as her gorgeous metallic tattoos. I bought myself a set from Old Khaki and absolutely love them! They last for a few days -although when I wore mine as “ring bling” it came off the same night – and they look gorgeous. I received tons of compliments on mine, and its no wonder, they are so stand out! I love mixing them with actual arm candy, and ya know, boho styled pieces like; lace details, fringes and beachy hair. And speaking of beach, metallic tattoos offer a great way to wear a little bling at the beach, without the risk of damaging or losing your precious jewellery. The set I bought was the La Femme collection, which includes one silver and one gold card with various designs. Fringed Benefits!

It’s so perfect and big enough for me to carry my daily life with me. But it’s not just the bag that has me swooning, I love fringed details on just about anything. I feel that it adds a subtle element of boho playfulness to any outfit.
