Add a POP with Bags of Colour

Add a POP with Bags of Colour

[tps_header]I’ve always been more of a shoes (rather than a bag) kinda girl, but lately, I’m going crazy for cute colour bags! I love my new “baby”, the Dinky Bag from Dune London at Edgars, because, well, she’s perfect! Although she’s not quite a cross-body bag (which I much prefer), the straps are long and adjustable enough to make her a perfect cross body. I don’t know why I am drawn to blue, I guess it must be my Greek blood because I’m always in jeans, and blue bags look so good with blue jeans Don’t you think? If you’re into blue or other colours, check out these gorgeous bags I’ve rounded up from Edgars and the hottest, international fashion brands that you can find thanks to Edcon… [/tps_header] Color Block The Dune “Darbs” bag seems to be one of Dune’s “Classic Bag” styles that’s re-worked to match the current trends. This season, the hottest Darbs comes in pink and orange to fit your colour blocking style! It’s a boxy bag with a metal frame and you can use the chain detail handle or use the shoulder strap instead. Brand: Dune London Price: R1099 Style: Darbs Available from: Dune London…

Double Pop Winter – Outfit Post

Double Pop Winter – Outfit Post

Slowly but surely winter is creeping up on us! And yesterday, I could feel it in Durbs – Even if it was only for a brief period. Although a short burst of cold, it surely got me thinking about outfits for winter. This year, instead of blending into the blandness of black, brown and grey, I’m going to inject pops of colour, which certainly brightens my mood! Since I do love wearing black, I’ll be adding colour pops with my accessories; like bags, scarves and snoods. This look is so very me. It’s casual, laid back, a little bid edgy and a little playful too. What do you guys think? Outfit Details: Coral Snood – GAP, Leather Jacket: Old Khaki (hubby bought it for my birthday last year and I love it so much, I want the tan and brown one too!),  Top – Sassy Chic, Pants – Woolworths (from last year’s winter collection), Suede Sling Bag – GAP, Leather Boots – Tsonga, Sunglasses – Giorgio Armani. The Retro Kitchen. Fun Stuff to Brighten up Your Kitchen

The Retro Kitchen. Fun Stuff to Brighten up Your Kitchen

I love all the bright, funky kitchen goodies out there at the moment, I could go colour crazy! These very retro, yet still modern kitchen pieces give your kitchen an instant mood boost, at least they have mine. I’m quite lucky that the style of my kitchen is very gourment/country/bistro style and all these items fit right in, especially the retro Morphy Richards kettle and toaster, but I’m sure any of these items would brighten up just about every style of kitchen. My obsession with styling my kitchen with colorful retro items started when I bought the Morphy Richards kettle and toaster after my kettle eventually died. I love the old school look of the kettle and huge dials on the toaster. They come in a variety of colours, but for my kitchen, I chose orange for both. I’ve always been a huge fan of Joseph Joseph stuff. I have a few items from this brand, and would love to someday kit out my entire kitchen with more Joseph Joseph gadgets. They really are superior in quality and very, very innovative! I recently bought this super cool stackable utensil set and love it to bits. I love the different coloured…

OPI Black Shatter Nail Polish

OPI Black Shatter Nail Polish

Ohh, how amazeballs is this crackle nail polish from OPI? I walked passed it in the mall yesterday and just could not resist! I had to have it and I gotta say, I love it! Seriously, how cool are my nails? A little short I’ll admit, but I love the graffiti-like, almost leopard print effect this crackle polish creates. It’s part of the new Katy Perry OPI collection, which also includes a fab range of colours that are on my wish-list. For now, I’ve made BFF’s with the Black Shatter Nail Lacquer.         Creating wild effects with this polish is so simple. All you do is paint your nails with any colour of your choice. I chose a yummy yellow from Sally Hansen called “Lemon Dash” as my base colour. Let the colour dry completely and then add a coat of OPI Black Shatter polish over it and watch it transform into a cracked effect before your eyes. So cool! You can create a crazy range of styles using different colours and different techniques with this shatter polish. Try light strokes, double coat strokes and even try playing around with how much pressure you apply when painting…

Check out my desk – It’s loaded with lip colour

Check out my desk – It’s loaded with lip colour

Tell me I don’t have THE best job in the world!  One of the perks of my Beauty Editors title (among others) is experimenting with makeup all day long and yesterday morning I got the most delightful bag of goodies, sent to me from the fabulous Jessica Lawther – Communications Manager for Estee Lauder. Like any (sane) girl, I couldn’t wait to see the colour selection from the delicious Estee Lauder Signature range. So, this morning I unloaded the selection on my desk, check it out… I’ve been fully stocked with fabulous lip colour for practically a lifetime.  And judging by this range’s staying on power, I don’t think anyone would need more lipstick. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! With so many shades which one is a girl to choose? All of them! Keep an eye out on StyleScoop as I will be featuring these shades on future issues of my Star Beauty column, which by the way, is published every Thursday on StyleScoop. Have a fab Friday Dimi

Fab Find Friday – Coral nail enamel

Fab Find Friday – Coral nail enamel

Yesterday I posted my Star Beauty Feature and showed you a full range of funky nail colours for bold and beautufil finger tips.  But I have a confession to make, I kept the very best colour for last, and today in my Fab Find Friday Im featuring One Perfect Coral from Revlon. It really is just that, perfect! A stunning, summery colour that looks sexy, perky and is very flirty.  It looks awesome against a tanned skin, and by adding multiple coats you can go from a simple, pretty shade to a bolder, more daring colour in no time at all. This colour looks really good with a simple LBD and hot heels, or adds that perfect finish to a summer dress and metallic flip flops. The Revlon One Perfect Coral nail enamel lasts really long and with 2 coats, does not chip easily.  If you add more coats for bolder colour, add a clear top coat to lock it in. Try this shade ladys, you’ll fall in love… I did
