My current bag obsession is the Chloe Drew Mini Crossbody Bag. For me, a crossbody bag is everything, and I am obsessed with this one… It’s kinda got that whole boho vibe going on, while still being a great looking bag that can be incorporated into many different looks. Of course, I like to aim for the stars and dream about the beauty of this bag, hoping that it will one day be mine. As I was paging through my magazine’s, looking for inspiration for my next column, I found this piece in a club magazine of some sort and thought to myself, I’d like to share this with our readers…. So here we go: “Handbags are the new shoes” “…marking the moment when handbags toppled shoes as the most important fashion accessory, the world’s most expensive bag – made from bits of 15 other bags – was unveiled in Europe, with a price tag of R350 000. The Louis Vuitton Tribute patchwork – which includes panels of rare feathers, coins, denim and fur –was recently hailed as the sign that handbags supplanted shoes as the ultimate fashion accessory. The asymmetrical, quilt-like bag hit catalogues as UK retailers Selfridges reported that the average cost of designer bags had jumped 55% in two years-to an average of R12 000 per handbag.” Jaaits! And this was in 2007!!!!!! In this article Marshal Cohen chief industries analyst for NDP (at that time), stated that new…View Post
The LOUIS VUITTON Spring-Summer 2009 Collection at the closing of Paris Fashion week, had a very distinct look. The runway was filled with classic designs, fun colours and also featured a slightly bohemian vibe. Feathers, beads and ropes gave the classic LV bag a bit of a fun, yet exotic feel.
