The Grand White Dinner

This year, The Grand White Dinner, an international all-white affair comes to Pretoria. And it’s all happening tomorrow (28 March 2015). I’m super excited to be on the guest list and I’ve got my “all white with a touch of green” outfit ready to wear! The location is still a secret, and will only be revealed on the day, but it sounds exciting! Tickets for the Pretoria event sold out pretty fast, but they released 30 more seated tickets today, so, If you’re in the mood for doing something fun and interesting on your Saturday, then be sure to nab those tickets, here! There will still be Grand White Dinner events in Johannesburg (18th April 2015), followed by Durban (25th April 2015) this year, as the Mother City already got a taste of all things white and it looked amazing! Dr Martens South African Store Launch

I used to live, and I mean LIVE in my Docs! Back in “the day” (and in SA) the style options were limited. You either had black or oxblood or you wanted them, and bad! But now, the variety of styles are endless. And (almost) all of them are available to us right here in South Africa! Woo HOO! I snapped up some some of my faves at the launch of the first flagship Dr Martens South African store in the Mall of Rosebank last week. A fab event, where we were treated to beer, burgers and OMG, Corndogs! From the original “ox blood” 14-ups to brighter coloured options, to some edgy clothing as well! Then there are these! Seriously loud styles in animal print, polka dots and floral prints. Black and white polka dots, rubber Docs, more animal print (I want to go back for these as the soles are slightly more “updated” from the original styles and I like that) and even a pair of Union Jack Docs. Mr Price Summer Launch with Henry Holland and Friends

What an awesome way to celebrate summer! On Thursday last week, I joined a bunch of fab peeps (including Henry Holland and Pixie Geldof) in Cape Town for the Mr Price Summer Launch Party! And, what a party it was! Mr Price basically re-created a summer festival, complete with buzzing music, delicious food, flowing drinks, picnic blankets… the works! They even had blown-up swans in the swimming pool, a full-on beauty bar (where you could touch up your prettiness or get summer-fest braids) and “flower crown stations”! I mean, it was just as you’d imagine, awesome! We were all there to celebrate the launch of summer and get a sneak peek at Mr Price’s new summer collection – which is so fun and fab by the way. Part of their summer collection also features a new range by British designer, Henry Holland (from The House of Holland), who collaborated with Mr Price for a second time around. Ray-Ban ‘OneSight Acoustics’ day out! Be There

Got nothing on this Saturday? Get your Ray-Ban’s on and come and enjoy performances by Arno Carstens, aKing and Al Bairre this week Saturday, 23rd November 2013 at Backsberg Wine Estate near Paarl. Hosted by Ray-Ban, “OneSight Acoustics” is a super relaxed family-friendly summer concert, that aims to raise funds for international organisation, OneSight. OneSight is a global charity that helps give eye tests and provide eyewear to those who wouldn’t be able to afford it. So far, they’ve helped over 8.4 million people around the world, and funds from this event will go to towards clinics in South Africa in 2014. It’s a really cool way to spend a summer’s day and show your support! If you’ve got kids, there is no excuse as you can bring them along! GUESS Denim Drive

Last weekend Gateway was cooking! DJ Euphonik was there, heating up the GUESS store, spinning the decks as part of GUESS Denim Drive campaign. Such a fabulous campaign that runs until the 15th December, with loads of exciting competitions and in store events. I was at the Lady GAGA concert in Jozi (boo), but from what I am told, the GUESS Gateway event was a truly fun filled day! Euphonik drew massive crowds with his fresh and funky beats, giving shoppers a chance to check out the gorgeous GUESS merchandise on offer and of course, giving away GUESS shopping vouchers. Even though I couldn’t be there in the flesh, my “eyes” were there to bring you some behind the scenes pics of the event, as well as scoop up the latest, hottest, most amazing trends on offer at GUESS right now. Ray-Ban and Jeremy Loops at Oppikoppi 2012

This year Ray-Ban celebrates 75 legendary years and what better way to celebrate than at Oppikoppi. Ray-Ban and music have evolved together over the ages and we were at Oppikoppi Sweet/Thing supporting local musicians, as well as adding value to festival goers’ experiences. Jeremy Loops is a modern day one-man folk band. Born out of necessity whilst working on yachts around the World, Jeremy discovered that there’s no-one better to work with than yourself. Now as the name may suggest, Jeremy has embraced technology in all its illustrious forms and creates his finely woven tapestry of sounds using his Guitar, Ukelele, harmonica and beatbox skills. He runs this all through a gamut of loop pedals, echo and distortion units and through the speakers to leave a crowd quite literally awe-struck.
