Get your Glow on with Soleil Tan De CHANEL

Get your Glow on with Soleil Tan De CHANEL

YAY for Spring! The sun is shining, the birds are singing, life is good! Well, apart from our very white, very scary winter bodies and faces that is. Now’s the time to start getting your glow on, and I’ve found just the product! It’s from Chanel and it’s called Soleil Tan De Chanel, which when translated from French, simply means “Sun tan of Chanel” It’s a sheer, weightless liquid that adds an instant glow and brightens up your skin. You can use it on its own, or over your foundation for a really polished summer look. Like all Chanel foundation products, Soleil Tan De Chanel also has light reflecting pigments that help to give your skin that special Chanel radiance. How I like to use it First I apply my foundation, a great one for Spring is Chanel VitaLumiere Aqua or another fab Chanel one Im trying out at the moment and will have details on it soon! Using my fingertips, I apply Soleil Tan De Chanel to all the areas that the sun would normal hit; like the upper cheek area, down the centre of my nose, on my chin, the cupids bow on my lip and slighly above my brow bones. You…

Lately, I’ve been kinda hooked on this new foundation from Elizabeth Arden. Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Ultra Lift and Firm Makeup is a luxurious, rich new foundation that uses Ceramide skincare’s latest CPT (Ceramide Plumping Technology) to give your skin a bit of a lift. Does it work? Yes, indeedio! Without caking on your face, this foundation gives your face a lift that’s certainly visible. It also adds a subtle luminous glow that contributes to the healthy overall look of your skin. You can also customise your coverage too. Apply a small amount and you’ll get a  nice even tone with fresh, vibrant skin. Layer it on and without caking, you’re ready to hit the town. Choose from a variety of shades, Vanilla Shell, Warm Sunbeige, Sandstone, Beige (like me), Buff, Bisque, Spice or Cocoa. Beauty Review: The Best Summer Foundations

Beauty Review: The Best Summer Foundations

The sun is shining, so it’s time to pack away those heavy foundations. I know you want to look good no matter what the season, so I’ve picked and reviewed my top five summer foundations of the moment (in order) and here they are! Tried, Tested and Loved – of course! 1. BOBBI BROWN TINTED MOISTURIZER COMBINED WITH BOBBI BROWN FOUNDATION STICK As a combo, Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer and Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick is my favourite summer foundation of the moment. On its own, the Tinted Moisturizer offers a nice even tone and gives the skin a nice healthy glow, but the magic happens when you apply the Foundation Stick lightly over it, and only where you need it. This combo is great for both day and night as you can custom build your coverage to suit your look. My Colour: Medium Tint Moisturizer and 4.5 Foundation Stick Read More: Find out what else I had to say about these two Bobbi Brown Foundations 2. CHANEL VITALUMIÈRE AQUA As a single product on its own, Chanel VITALUMIÈRE Aqua is the ultimate summer skin. You’ll see in the shots below, where I’ve sampled it on my arm, its texture is…

Beauty Review – Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer & Foundation Stick

Beauty Review – Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer & Foundation Stick

You might remember a while ago I did a feature post on Eduardo Ferreira, Bobbi Brown’s right hand man who recently visited South Africa and I got to watch him work some of his magic. One of the things that impressed me was how he used foundation. Now, you may know that Bobbi Brown is a huge believer in natural looking makeup. She focuses on enhancing natural beauty and working with what you’ve got, instead of trying to turn you into something you’re not. And so, when Eduardo showed me his little “trick” on applying natural looking foundation I was keen to try it out for myself. Instead of plastering the face with heavy foundation, instead he uses a tinted moisturizer such as Bobbi Brown SPF 15 Tinted Moisturizer – which gives the skin an even tone. While it moisturizers and feels great, this tinted moisturizer also makes the skin glow with health. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now as my day wear “foundation” and love how it makes my skin look almost perfect, but still shows my skin underneath – sort of like a see through layer or veil. But, like most women, there are a…

Beauty Review – Chanel VITALUMIÈRE AQUA foundation

Beauty Review – Chanel VITALUMIÈRE AQUA foundation

For the past week I’ve been trying out a new foundation from Chanel that makes the perfect summer face. I’ts my first touch of Chanel foundation and if this one is anything to go by then, I’m sure I’ll love the whole range. This one, Chanel VITALUMIÈRE AQUA is dubbed the “new-generation” texture. On first application the formula is quite watery, but you’ve got to shake it up, combining the water and oil to develop into the correct texture that is Vitalumiere Aqua. I applied it with my fingertips (not my brush as I usually do) and perfecto! It blends like a dream. Here’s how the foundation looks after shaking it up and just swiping it on my hand. Same light, here I’ve blended it using my fingertips only and it’s a perfect match. My colour is B40 – Beige Desert. The formula is soft and very sensual with a luxurious delicate smell that really does feel like second skin. I got a lot of compliments wearing this foundation, people telling me how radiant and glowing my skin looked. It lasts about 8-10 hours and would probably last longer if I didn’t have a bad habit of constantly touching my…

Lingerie and Pearls for your face with Guerlain

Lingerie and Pearls for your face with Guerlain

Ohh, I think I’m in love! I recently got to test out two new products from Guerlain, my first time ever using this brand and all I can say is, me likey! A Lot! Imagine covering your skin with sexy lingerie and pearls that make you feel like a million bucks? We’ll that pretty much describes how you’ll feel when you use Guerlain Lingerie de Peau foundation and Guerlain Meteorite Perles. Let’s start with the Meteorites Perles, a light diffusing primer that looks good enough to eat. How gorgeous is that bottle? I almost didn’t want to use it, but really glad I did and now it’s one of my firm favourites. To sum it up, it’s pure luxury in a bottle! Apply it before your foundation and it transforms your skin into a perfect canvas, that sets your skin beautifully and allows your foundation to glide on gorgeously. The texture of the Meteorites Perles is not quite a cream and not quite a gel either. It’s non greasy, non sticky and it also gives your skin a nice “fresh” look. I even tried applying it after foundation one day and it works wonderfully if you’re after that glowing skin…

Maximum Cover Camouflage – Foundation Friday with Estee Lauder

Maximum Cover Camouflage – Foundation Friday with Estee Lauder

This week I tried out Estee Lauder’s Maximum Cover Camouflage. Let me just say – Camouflage was the perfect name for this product! I’m quite lucky in that I don’t have any scars on my face. I do however have pigmentation that often feels like it’s magnified and I found this product to really do a good job of completely covering it up. Other foundations, like the Double Wear for example have successfully hidden my pigmentation, but the Maximum Cover Camouflage makes it completely disappear – or at least, one would think!
