Happy Fragrance Friday everyone! Today, I’m coming to you with another exciting fragrance launch and a bottle so “out there”, it deserves it’s own page here on StyleScoop. Say hello to MOSCHINO STARS, a new to South Africa (it launched in the last week of August) Eau Da Parfum by MOSCHINO CHEAP AND CHIC. An unusual name for a fragrance, but you know MOSCHINO, always pushing the boundaries and going totally over the top! Just look at the bottle design! I mean, who but MOSCHINO would create a fragrance that’s lid features a cluster of shooting stars (or as they call it “a bouquet of stars, like the constellation Cassiopeia” ) and still make it look chic? And it smells pretty good too! Moschino Cheap and Chic STARS is a white floral scent that opens with top notes of citron granita, may rose and peony. At the heart lies lily of the valley, orange blossom and jasmine, before developing into a base of driftwood, vetiver, ambroxan and amber. Happy Fragrance Friday everyone! Today, I wanted to share another gorgeous fragrance with you gals from GUCCI, GUCCI BAMBOO. Although new to South Africa, GUCCI BAMBOO was launched by GUCCI in the Northern Hemispheres’ Spring of 2015, and now that we’re heading into warmer weather, GUCCI BAMBOO is a beautiful and delicate scent that we too can enjoy. Before we get into the notes and glorious scent, I love the story behind the name of this fragrance. BAMBOO is one of GUCCI’s most recognisable design signatures. It’s a symbol that’s natural strength compares to steel. It’s slender and elegant, and like bamboo, the GUCCI woman shares these strengths. I’m Lost in a Daisy Dream

Marc Jacobs is a legend! I mean, he’s an amazing designer, but his perfumes really are like having a piece of his very own, signature art, right in your hand! And they smell amazing! Take Daisy Dream for example. The bottle alone is probably one of the most special bottles I have ever seen, and the juice – OMG the juice is absolutely dreamy! It’s refreshing to find a “floral scent” that’s not packaged in pink, but rather a beautiful baby blue, adorned with delicate white flowers, inspired by blue skies and fields of daisies… For an Eau de Toilette, Daisy Dream has a surprisingly long staying power. Personally, I always tend to go for the EDP version, because I like my scent to stay stronger for longer, but this EDT lasted for a good couple of hours on my skin. Daisy Dream is a soft, fruity floral that is much softer and more delicate than you’d expect. It opens with bright top notes of blackberry, grapefruit and pear and develops into an airy, delicate scent, complimented by heart notes of Jasmine, Lychee and Blue Wisteria, before settling into a dreamy base of white woods, musk and coconut water. Happy Friday Lovelies! Today I wanted to share another fragrance obsession, the new Eau De Toilette by Stella McCartney, STELLA EDT. Beautifully packaged in blush pink with polka dot motifs on the box and bottle, this soft, yet sophisticated scent celebrates the modern woman. It’s lighter than the original Stella Eau de Parfum, but continues to celebrate the naturally sexy, confident woman. For the guys’ Fragrance Friday, today I wanted to share a gorgeous, manly scent for ya! The new NUIT by Issey Miyake that went on sale nationwide last month. I love the ISSEY MIYAKE men’s fragrance selection, probably even more than the ladies. They just have a very unmistakable sharp and crispness that’s both alluring and mysterious. ISSEY MIYAKE is one of hubby’s favourite fragrance houses as well! We both love the new NUIT, a fragrance that is an ode to wood with an effervesce of rich ingredients, mingled with opulence and potency. It’s a potent, sensual fragrance with deep notes built on a leather backbone, surrounded by woods and spices.   It opens with bright, zesty and citrusy top notes of bergamot and tender grapefruit to give it a bite of masculine elegance. The heart notes follow a mysterious trail with leather accord and black pepper laden with woody notes and vetiver. One Direction, Our Moment Fragrance

A major talking point of most teenage girl’s discussions is boy band phenomenon One Direction, who will be visiting South Africa in March next year. Until then, you can get your One Direction fix with their debut fragrance, Our Moment, that has arrived in South Africa. I’m not hugely into celebrity fragrances, although Kate Moss’ Vintage MUSE will always remain one of my all time favourites. Our Moment looks absolutely beautiful and will no doubt, be the fantasy of many young girls. The bottle is gorgeous, with a pink “tutu” crown lid and a beautiful faceted glass design. Inside, the pink juice oozes with top notes of pink grapefruit, wild berries and red current. At the heart; Jasmine Petals, Fresh Fresia and Frangipani enhance this scent, while base notes of Creamy Musk, Sheer Woods and White Patchouli finish it off. The scent is young, fruity and girly. It’s not overpowering, but adds a sparkle of light, fruity aroma that’s pleasant and likeable. Our Moment, the boy band’s first scent (they have a second one on the way to SA), won big at the Fragrance Foundation Awards “FIFI’S”, which took place in New York. Get ready for the new, addictive Black Opium fragrance from YSL. I’ve never been a huge fan of the original Opium. Although I don’t hate it (and there was a stage that I didn’t mind it too much), overall I find it very heavy and a little too musty for my liking. So when I got to sample the new Black Opium I thought I wouldn’t like it. But I do! In fact, I love it! Black Opium has been described as fierce, dynamic, energetic and instantly engaging – And I think it fits all of these really well. It’s the modern day YSL woman, updated and re-gnergized from her 1977 predecessor, Opium. BLACK OPIUM is the new generation oriental gourmand and it’s radically different to the original, classic scent. Upon spraying it, you get an instant shot of caffeine! The scent of coffee beans is electrified by white flower notes. I love coffee; drinking, smelling and tasting it! Even talking about it. Today, I’ve got a triple Fragrance Friday for you, featuring the three Thomas Sabo fragrances that are now available here in South Africa. Each one comes beautifully packaged in it’s own, striking mini-hat box, inspired by the 1950’s. The bottles, a true Thomas Sabo creation, are all quite similar; elegant with candy-black and white stripe down the sides, and the logo for each fragrance brand in the centre. Since Thomas Sabo is first and foremost a high end jewellery brand, each fragrance is finished off with a hand-tied cord that can be worn as a bracelet or hair tie. These will surely prettify any dressing table and they’ll make such gorgoues gifts!
