In the last couple of years, plant parenting has become a major thing, and I for one am glad! I love, love, love plants! In fact, if I had my way, I’d turn my entire house into a full on jungle, but then I think, hello spiders and I’m like errrr, no thanks! So my gardening is reserved for outdoors, with some house plants to keep me happy.

As someone who enjoys digging my hands in the soil and watching mother nature bless me with her bounty, I’ve put together a little gift guide which I think fellow plant lovers (no matter their level of gardening enthusiasm) will love.

One of my favourite things about Spring is seeing my garden transform from brown, depressing and dry to lush, green and glorious! I’ll admit I haven’t been the best Gardener (everything would just die), but now I’m really into it and it’s all about Care! Speaking of care, whether you’re an avid Gardener or not, you’ll love the Crabtree and Evelyn Gardeners Collection.

Today is a rather unusual day to celebrate, but it’s a good one! It’s Hendrick’s World Cucumber Day. And in honour of this day, I’m sharing a few unusual cucumber growing tips from Hendrick’s Gin, who conducted a very different kind of experiment, which revealed cucumbers to be highly sensitive to sound, scent and touch! So, if you want to grow the most glorious cucumbers for your G&T’s, then you may want to crank up your playlist, make better choices on what other plants you plant them with and start swaddling those glorious greens. Sound kinda crazy – you ain’t seen nothing yet…

Do you remember those Tamagotchi digital pets? After messing around on the internet the other day, I bumped into a similar concept, but definitely one that is  more up my alley, Click and Grow digital plants and herbs! With the price of food, especially veggies being so ridiculously over the top, growing your own herbs and some veggies seems like the only way to go these days! I’ve just started my little veggie patch in my garden and while one day I hope it will be filled with an abundance of goodies, at the moment it still looks pretty sad. Click & Grow grows plants without watering and fertilizing. Click & Grow measures all the necessary parameters and doses an exact amount of water, fertilizer and air, according to the plant’s needs. The Click & Grow Starter-Kit includes Busy Lizzy Seeds, but you can also buy cartridges to grow French Marigolds, Basil MIX, the Painted Nettle, Chilli pepper and mini tomato. Apart from the herbs and veggies, these Click and Grow herbs would look great in my office! The electronic smart pot even matches my MAC perfectly! Where to buy Click & Grow Plants You can get your plants, starter kits and refils online from www.clickandgrow.com
