Get Your Nail Polish To Last

Get Your Nail Polish To Last

Nails! The bane of my existence! I used to get my nails Shellac-ed all the time, which I loved because my nail colour would last for weeks, and my nails would look in pretty darn good shape. Nowadays, time seems like a luxury I just can’t afford. So for the past couple of weeks, I’ve been paying real close attention to the condition of my nails and it’s really paying off in terms of far prettier at-home-nail-jobs, healthier nails and longer lasting polish. Best part, it isn’t as hard as you think! You will need to invest in a few essential tools to prep your nails for the perfect paint job. Before you apply your nail colour, spend a little time getting your nails in tip top shape. Make sure your nails are completely clean and free of any oils. Even if you’ve just removed your previous colour, use a little nail scrubbing brush to scrub off any excess oils. Next, dry your nails completely. Shape your nails using a nail file, going in one direction rather than sawing back and forth. Gals, you get nail files and then you get nail files! Those cheapies you find in the supermarket…

New “Everyday” Foundation Routine

New “Everyday” Foundation Routine

My everyday foundation routine changes from time to time. Since I am a beauty blogger, I get exposed to a lot of really cool new products, making it rather difficult to stick to one brand and one foundation routine. I thought I’d share my current, “everyday” foundation routine with you guys as I’ve been trying, testing and loving a few new products right now… Foundation I still have my absolute favourite foundations, like MAC Studio Fix, Chanel Vitalumiere, Makeup Forever HD, Chanel Perfection Lumiere and Estee Lauder Maximum Cover, but for every day, and for the time being at least, I’m loving the all new L’Oreal Infallible 24H Foundation! It’s really impressed me! I have used the old Infallible foundation, which I found to be a little thick and pasty, and I also couldn’t get any of the colours to match. But this new formula, with a Hydrating Hyaluron Complex, and “extreme hold pigments” has really improved the product. Now the foundation goes on a lot smoother, blends beautifully and lasts a really long time. Plus for me, the colour range is more up my (olive skin toned) alley! I’m using a combination of the shade Honey (235) and Amber (300) and the result is a perfect match! I found the best way to apply…

Magnetic Nail Polish

Magnetic Nail Polish

We really are so spoilt when it comes to creative nail choices these days. I’m constantly amazed by the awesome things they come up! Something that recently caught my eye is LCN’s Magnetic Nail Polish. It’s not just another fancy name given to make the nail polish sound cool, LCN’s Magnetic Nail Polish does in fact have a magnetic field and using a magnet, you can give your nails a totally unique, almost 3D look! How it works… You apply a coat of LCN Magnetic Nail polish to your nails as you would any normal nail polish. One, thick layer is all you need. Before it dries, place the magnet over your nail (without touching the nail of course) and hold it there for about 30 seconds. You’ll soon notice the 3d effect starts to take place. There are a number of colours available in the Magnetic range, I used “Green Temptation” a pretty, forest green that looks awesome with this effect. Oh, and you’re probably wondering whether or not you need the LCN magnet or if any magnet will do? Well, I tried it out with a normal magnet and the effect I got was a nice solid ball in the centre of my nail – not cool! The LCN magnet…

Beauty Bytes – New on My Desk

Beauty Bytes – New on My Desk

Check out the latest scoop of gorgeous products that landed on my desk this week…. First up, LCN‘s new colour “D4” is too pretty! I’ve currently got Shellac on my nails so I couldn’t swatch it for you guys, but its a dirty pink shade with very subtle sparkles! Too pretty! Next up, this Neydharting Ageless Eye Cream from Austrian skincare brand MOOR. This is my first touch of the MOOR brand, and although I’ve only been using it for two days now, I love it! Feels fab and really gives your eyes a nice crinkle free finish and feeling hydrated. Then, a product I’m not able to try and test (for obvious reasons) but I do love the concept, packaging and OMG it smells delicious is a new range of hair care for kiddies with ethnic hair. Created by Dark & Lovely, Beautiful Beginnings has re-launched their range and packaging so it’s made for kids. Check out the totally cute shampoo, cuddling moisturizer and “ouchless detangler”. Pto help young girls care for thier hair and keep it healthy. Also part of this range is their infamous hair relaxer, that has been ranked the number 1 Children’s Haircare Relaxer in…
