Inside the Asnières Atelier, The Heart of Louis Vuitton

If you’re considering a little trip to France; people watching at the Champs-Élysées, or taking in the majesty of the Eiffel Tower, then I’ve got another must-see French treasure to add to your list. This July, luxury French brand, Louis Vuitton, opened it’s doors to one of the most iconic residencies in France. The historic family home of Louis Vuitton which houses his famous atelier (workshop), Asnières, located in the Parisian suburb of Asnières-sur-Seine. Maison de famille Louis Vuitton et atelier – Louis Vuitton family house & workshop Until the mid 60’s, Asnières was the residency of the Vuitton family, however after the family moved out, they kept the atelier going. To this day, Asnières continues to create the houses’ most exceptional pieces, including hard-sided LV trunks, items in rare and exotic skins as well as all custom, special-orders. Fulfilling the most extravagant requests, from the famous trunk-bed of explorer Pierre Savorgnan de Brazza, to the tea trunk for the Maharajah of Baroda, and Karl Lagerfeld’s iPad Trunk. I Covet… Designer Wardrobe Staples

Good morning fabulous people! Lately I’ve been coveting (so what else is new), so I thought I’d start a new series here on StyleScoop called I Covet… and I’m kicking off with Classic Designer Staples! I’ve set my expectations high, and since we’re dreaming in any case, I’ve picked out designer pieces that I totally think are worth the investment… even if it’s something that will only happen 10, 20 years down the line! I reckon even then, I’ll still want these same pieces! A girl can dream can’t she? Burberry Trench Coat Number one on my aim-for-the-stars wish list is this Burberry Sandringham Long Trench coat – of course! I mean, it’s probably the number one wardrobe staple that will never go out of style! Am I right? My fixation with owning a Burberry Trench has always been around, but it was only when I attended the My Burberry fragrance launch that I really, really felt the NEED! Louis Vuitton’s African flagship store Re-Opens in Sandton City

[tps_header]This May, Louis Vuitton, one of the most lustworthy luxury brands, re-opened its “African flagship” in Sandton City’s new Diamond Walk. I was invited to the opening party on Tuesday night (scroll to the end for the gallery), and let me tell you gals, the store is a little piece of heaven; covered in wall-to-to-wall happiness of bags, shoes, scarves, jewellery, sunglasses and more… Every girl dreams of owning a piece of this iconic French brand. I know I have my heart set on a few pieces, and a visit to the Sandton Louis Vuitton flagship, just makes the possibility of owning a piece of LV (one day) that much more real. The fact that you can purchase your very own Louis without setting foot outside of South Africa, makes it easier to own this brand. Now that we’ve saved on overseas trips to buy a little Louis, let’s pretend to blow my budget in the Sandton City Louis Vuitton store. But where would I start? Perhaps a piece of fine Louis Vuitton jewellery, like these beautiful statement necklaces, or a bright bold bag like the Volta (above). Or a classic Monogrammed Louis Vuitton Bag? Fresh from the Louis Vuitton catwalk, today I wanted to share some pics (not mine obvs.) from the brand’s latest collection for Spring/ Summer 2015, Défilé Femme Collection été 2015. Gisele Bündchen to Escort World Cup Trophy at Final

Think the World Cup can’t get any hotter? Well it has! Brazilian Born Supermodel and icon Gisele Bündchen will be on the pitch of the Maracana stadium on Sunday Night, the night of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Final. She’ll be there, to accompany the the Louis Vuitton World Cup Trophy Travel Case, and handing it to the captain of the winning soccer team. Either way, the winning team is going to be traveling back home (to Germany or Argentina) and they’ll be taking home the coveted World Cup in this stylish, one of a kind travel case. The case BTW, is made using the iconic LV monogram canvas. It measures 36 cm in height, weighs 6.175 kg and is made of solid 18-carat gold with a base of malachite. FIFA World Cup – Louis Vuitton Travel Case

So, the FIFA World Cup is in full swing. Which team are you backing? My money is on Italia (always), but my Greek blood is secretly hoping that the Greeks will do something amazing! This post isn’t about which team is going to win, but rather what an amazing piece of awesomeness the winning team is going to get to hold, besides the iconic Soccer World Cup trophy! On the final day of the World Cup, which will be on the 13th July 2014, the captain of the winning team will receive a specially designed, Louis Vuitton case, custom made to carry the famous trophy. This special order case is handmade in Louis Vuitton’s historic Asnières workshop (near Paris), and has been meticulously designed to accommodate the celebrated Trophy. The case measures 36 cm in height, weighs 6.175 kg and is made of solid 18-carat gold with a base of malachite. It is covered in Louis Vuitton’s iconic Monogram canvas and is fitted with the company’s signature brass lock and corners. The case opens from the front and at the top to allow the Trophy to be easily removed when it is delivered to the captain of the winning team.

W! The New “It” Bag From Louis Vuitton

Ladies, feast your eyes on the latest Louis Vuitton bag to covet. The W. A stylish bag with a three part body, enhanced by the blending of various materials. Louis Vuitton describes the W as being “geometric and generous, supple yet not limp; its perfect sculpting reconciles the comfort of a large bag with the bearing of a sophisticated accessory.” Do you like it? I’ve always had my heart set on the Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM Monogram Bag. The thing that always got me about the Neverfull was that it doesn’t close at the top. This isn’t really a big issue, I still love it and have it on my wish list, but I travel a lot and it always freaks me out when I can’t close my bag when it goes through the X-ray machine, or worse yet, when I have to shove it in the overhead locker on the airplane. But yeah – such major problems to worry about! 🙂 There is always the Delightful MM, but I don’t like the zip on it. It feels very awkward for me .
