Lancome Hypnôse Volume-à-Porter Mascara

Lancome Hypnôse Volume-à-Porter Mascara

I have this thing with mascara… I love it! It’s the one essential makeup must-have I just can’t, make that, won’t live without! It’s fair to say that the Lancôme Hypnôse mascaras are among my faves. They just seem to get it right, better and better with each new version, and the new Hypnôse Volume-à-Porter, Cashmere Sensation Volume Mascara is without a doubt one fabulous mascara. It’s the new Mascara for the woman who understands the power of her gaze! In it’s jewel-like lacquered bottle, Hypnôse Volume-à-Porter Mascara maintains all of its mesmerising curves, updated in sleek gunmetal grey packaging. In a single stroke it dresses the lashes in an elegant slick of volume, creating the blackest black, lushest lashes that still look incredibly natural and above all, feel comfortable! For me, I have okay length lashes (although I wouldn’t mind them being a bit longer ya know), but they are dead straight with no curve – something I always look for in a mascara, since my lids  face downwards, and I NEED the curve and the volume to open up my eyes. This mascara does a great job at coating the lashes and giving each one a lift. It separates each lash evenly, without a single clump, but at…

A Grandiôse New Mascara

A Grandiôse New Mascara

My every-day makeup is minimal. But no matter what, the one thing I cannot (and will not) do without is mascara! It’s a girl’s best friend! Just not when it pokes you in the eye! So imagine a mascara with a perfectly contoured wand, that takes application into consideration, as much as it does lush, long lashes! Well gals, there’s a new mascara in town and it’s worth all the hype! Lancôme Grandiôse is here! Consider it a fusion of innovation and fantasy, technical flair and sheer refinement! It streamlines and simplifies the application of mascara thanks to it’s really unique wand and brush design. It gets into all the little corners and curves, to give you a full set of lush lashes! It’s easy to apply on your top and bottom lashes and both eyes (whether you’re right or left handed). The formula is flexible, sleek and long lasting. It also conditions the lashes with Lancôme’s exclusive Native Rose-Cell Extract™ that leaves lashes softer, supple and more resistant so that your mascara wears longer. Lancôme mascaras are among my faves! One of my all time faves is Lancôme Hypnose Drama, and I like Hypnose Star for every day kinda…

My 5 Favourite Mascaras of the Moment

My 5 Favourite Mascaras of the Moment

Mascara is just one of those things, you can never have enough of! I am constantly changing the ones I use, but I do have a few current faves and find myself using these five mascara’s the most. Here they are in no particular order of favourites, since I love them all – just as much and for different reasons… Lancôme Hypnôse Star This is a fantastic everyday mascara for me. What I like is how it evens out my lashes and makes them look more defined. It also adds just enough length for every day wear. It keeps my lashes spaced out, coating and defining each one individually. The formula lasts all day and doesn’t run at all – so again, a perfect, every day mascara and I love the curved tube and sparkle on it. Lancôme Hypnôse Drama I’ve had my Hypnose Drama mascara for ages. Surprisingly, I’ve had it since March last year (when I reviewed it on StyleScoop) and although I don’t use it every day, it hasn’t dried out in nearly two years – that’s pretty impressive. This mascara is fab for giving my lashes length and fabulous volume. I absolutely love the wand – it’s…

An Intense Shock Wave of Seduction! We Review The New Le Volume De Chanel Mascara

An Intense Shock Wave of Seduction! We Review The New Le Volume De Chanel Mascara

This week sees the launch of a fabulous, intense new mascara from one of my favourite make-up houses, Chanel! Le Volume De Chanel coats each lash beautifully from root to tip, to give you lush, longer lashes in an instant! You can enjoy bigger, bolder, more defined lashes with a wide-open eye effect. Absolutely what the doctor ordered! It comes in three beautiful shades; 10 Noir, 20 Bleu and 30 Prune! And each one retails for R355.00 I got to sample the gorgeous, thick and blackest-black, Noir and it’s currently my number one Mascara of the moment! I have normal length lashes, but they are sparse, which means I cannot live without mascara. Le Volume De Chanel takes them from blah to beautiful, quickly coating each lash with high volume and definition. The new Le Volume De Chanel features an all new brush and formula. The patented “Snowflakes” brush is composed of stacked disks with a dual injection process which helps to add volume and va–va–voom to the lash. It has a combination of long, stiff bristles and shorter soft bristles that work together to open up the eye! The long bristles even out the product, allowing you to coat each lash individually, while the shorter bristles lengthen and separate each…

Beauty Bytes – Fab New Makeup Goodies

Beauty Bytes – Fab New Makeup Goodies

Here’s a quick beauty byte on some of the amazing new makeup goodies I’ve been playing with recently. Tried, Tested and LOVED (as always)! Woolworths Makeup Wink, Wink, Blush, Blush! Woolies have launched an exciting new range of makeup that’s bang on trend and budget friendly! Some of the goodies I got to try: WINK Eyeshadow trio (R49.95) and BLUSH lip & cheek tint (R49.95). The eyeshadow I got to play with, Khol Maybe is absolutely stunning. I’m in love with the burgundy shade on the right and the khaki green on the left is also gorgeous. A great combo for winter! These WINK shadows are highly pigmented and great for adding metallic colour to your lids. In general I don’t like using the applicators that come with compacts, and prefer to use my MAC 217 blending brush to create a blended shade and my MAC 239 brush to pack on the colour.  You can even amp up the intensity of these shadows by dipping your 239 brush in a drop of water before packing on the colour. This will make your eyes pop! The BLUSH lip and cheek tint is a lovely cream blush that diffuses effortlessly on the cheeks and adds a perfect pop of colour to your lips.…

Make A Wish And Grow Your Lashes

Make A Wish And Grow Your Lashes

Who doesn’t want super long, full flutter lashes? The only people I’ve ever heard complaining about their eyelashes being too long are men, which makes me wonder, was there a mix up in the making of Adam and Eve? If you’re blessed with long, full lashes, I really envy you! If you’re more like me with barely there lashes, don’t worry because help is at hand! More and more beauty companies are out there researching solutions to help our lashes grow. One product, I’ve tried, tested and love is Rapid Lash. It’s quite an expensive product, but it really works. You’ve just got to be consistent with it, and in a few weeks you will notice the difference! Revlon also has an interesting mascara called Grow Luscious. I’ve only just started using it, so haven’t seen the lash growing results yet, but apart from its “lash enhancing” ingredients that work over time to assist the natural growth of your lashes, it’s a pretty good mascara. I do like the supersized brush and after three coats my lashes look long and lovely! It would be an awesome bonus if this mascara could actually make my lashes grow at the same time. For some reason, lately I’ve…

Play with Coloured Lashes with these new Mascaras

Play with Coloured Lashes with these new Mascaras

Inglot have just launched five of the most amaze(eye)balls super pigmented, coloured mascaras… Electric Blue, Emerald Green, Purple, Navy Blue and Brown! Yum! Inglot Colour Play Mascara goes on beautifully and coats each lash with rich, vibrant colour. Today Im wearing the blue, but the green is my favourite!  The formula of this mascara lasts all day long, doesn’t smudge or clump and it’s water resistant! I used the mascara over my normal lashes and the colour came out nice and bright! However, for an even more eye-popping effect, Inglot suggests using a white eyelash primer before applying your Colour Play Mascara! I’m going to try that next! PS! If you’ve got sensative eyes, Inlgot Colour Play mascara should be safe for you to use. It’s dermatologically tested and safe for contact lenses. Get them! Inglot Colour Play Mascara’s retail at R149 each and they have a special offer running at the moment, where you can buy two for R250!

Let’s get Loud!

Let’s get Loud!

So you guys know I’m a sucker for mascara. Like many of you out there, my lashes are short and not very thick. To top it off, the edges are blonde (I know, a Greek with blonde lashes) and my eyes are also quite big, which means I cannot go a day without mascara. I need lashes! I must have a bazillion tubes of mascara, and while it’s hard for me to pick favourites, each one has it’s own unique benefits. A new mascara I got to try out recently is from L’Oreal and it’s called Volume Million Lashes, Extra-Black. It’s an updated version to their first Volume Million Lashes, but this one extra black. I love it! It makes my lashes super black, thickens out my blonde tips and ads more va-va-voom. What I really like about it, is that you can pile on up to five coats (I haven’t’ attempted more) and still your lashes look quite natural, not clumpy and fake. I like to apply three coats, let it dry a little and then apply two more. The formula is not clumpy so it doesn’t crumble when you try to apply more coats even when its just…

Three Mascaras We’re Loving Right Now

Three Mascaras We’re Loving Right Now

We’re always on the hunt for new mascaras that will make our eyes pop and give us luxe lashes. And while there are many fabulous mascara on the market, we’ve found these three that are super hot right now. Chanel Sublime De Chanel 10 This is my new everyday mascara of choice. It’s waterproof and gives my lashes length and a nice curl without crumbling. When I removed brush to use it for the first time, I thought it had dried up as it doesn’t have the usual “coated” look most mascara’s do. In fact, I can see every bristle clearly on the brush. However, once I started applying to my lashes, it coated each lash with a super shiny texture and gave my lashes a nice curl while extending them outwards. It didn’t do too much for volume at first, but after applying three layers, the volume was amped up and there was virtually no fall out. I love the brush of this mascara with its tiny, flexible teeth. It has a patent “stretch bi-injection” brush that offers dual action in a single stroke and covers lashes one by one. It’s also got 4 mini-combs that help to separate…
