A new year means new goals and what better way to kick off 2017 than with a desk space that will have you wanting to get the year off to a productive, practical and pro-active start, which for me, always stars with where I spend the bulk of my days – behind my desk! New Year, New Desk

New Year, New Desk

Now that Christmas is over, it’s time to start thinking about the New Year. For me, the best way to welcome a new working year is with a fresh, inspired desk space. This weekend the hubs made me the most amazing, beautiful  “blonde” pine trestle desk. It’s gorgeous and big enough for me to work and fill it with pretty things! It needs to be finished off, so in the meantime, I’m looking for beautiful desk accessories to adorn it with. I love the look of natural wood, and since that’s the basis of my desk, I want to go for natural wood pieces, gold and white accents with a touch of black and white for contrast. Until my pretty new desk is ready to reveal, here’s a couple of gorgeous things that I’d love to have on my desk in 2015! Studio Sarah Notebook, Reiko Kaneko Lip Tease Mug, Jonathan Adler Gold Zebra Dish, Kate Spade Acrylic Letter Tray, Kate Spade Acrylic Stapler, Kate Spade “Escape the Ordinary” scented candle, Made By Girl Love Foil Print,  Wooden Hand Mannequin, Wood Block Perpetual Calendar. And of course, some inspiration… The beautiful desk of Danielle Moss via Apartment Therapy. LOVE this space of Kristen Clarke from Living In Color Print. More images here.…

My Fresh “New” Office Space

My Fresh “New” Office Space

I’ve finally finished my “new” office space (that being my gallery wall) and wanted to give you a tour of my little place of awesomeness… For the past two years I had a blank white wall, then a massive Bob Marley canvas (which I still love, and is currently sitting behind me), and now I’m loving my new gallery wall. My biggest thing with my office wall was trying to decide what to do with it. I had planned to frame and display designer shopping bags (that I’ve collected for years), but that would have cost a small fortune to frame each one to size. The other option was to turn it into a giant pin board or blackboard. In the end, with a little playing, I am happy with the end result. Take a look… I use one corner of a huge office unit that is fitted around the room. I won’t show you the other side since it’s occupied by the hubz! While my setup is cute and girly, his is the complete opposite! I often call his side the “hacker corner” because it’s all dark and very techno-geeky! I spend most of my days here, so I…

Office Wall Inspiration

Office Wall Inspiration

Hey Guys I hope 2014 has gotten off to a good working start so far? As with every new year, I always feel the need to spruce up my office space and I am so glad that Typo has finally opened in Durbs (yay). I can finally get my hands on some cool little bits for my desk. I’ll do a whole office post soon, but for today, I wanted to share some Office Wall Inspiration, since I am working on my own at the moment… Black and white prints and photographs make this wall sophisticated and classy. See more of this office on Habitually Chic Love this office gallery wall by Dwelling Cents. It’s sleek and clean and I love the white frames and the subtle, yet fun pops of yellow. Jen from Made By Girl has the most amazing Office Wall Gallery that features a lot of her own prints (which are available in her Etsy shop). I love the splashes of gold and how well the mix of prints work together. She also has some great tips on creating your own office gallery wall, so make sure to check them out on her blog. Once again, love the white…

Decor Monday – Desktop Details

One of the things I’ve been putting off, but really feel I need to focus on again, is sorting out my desk. It’s still filled with beauty products from last years’ features and old press releases. I love this desk by blogger Peep My Style… Here are some items I have my eye on… I friggin love this print by Don Oehl via 20×200. I think it would make an absolutely great feature on my wall! This little bunny from Loads of Living is super cute! I love the colour. I actually popped in to see if they had it at the Gateway store, but sadly nothing. I’ll keep my eye out for something similar though. I definitely need a new office chair. I’m thinking something white with a high back similar to this one from Sevens. Cute storage drawers from @home An iPig. Oink Oink Kikkerland mini grass charging station from Big Blue. I hate cables and this is a perfect way to keep my phone and other gadgets charged without the messy cables. What do you keep on your desk? How do you organise it?

A Life In Style – Home Office Inspiration

A Life In Style – Home Office Inspiration

Im so excited! Eeeeek, I can barely contain myself – calm down, calm down, calm down. Ok, whew, I’m back… Last week my hubby and I put in an offer for our very first, free standing home – no more complex living for us – happy dance-. Well, without jumping the gun, everything seems to be signed, sealed and (almost) delivered and if all goes as plan, we’ll be making the big move soon. It’s an old home, but a homey one and one that we’ll have so much fun fixing up. He’s planning what he’s going to break down and I’m planning what I’m going to fix up, but not walls, more like buy new furniture and revamp the space! Men are from Mars, women from Venus. I’ve given myself three places to start… The Entrance Hall as it’s a focal point and needs to look inviting My “Carrie Closet” – Ill explain later, and My Office My current home office is very bright and while I do love it, I’ve had it this way for a while now and need something new. So, for my new space I’m thinking something more minimalistic, something all white with splashes of…

Desktop de-stress

Desktop de-stress

It’s amazing how much a cluttered desk can stress you out. I’m one of those types of people who somehow (don’t ask me how) manages to live in a heap of organized chaos. Generally there is makeup, press releases, cd’s, notes, pens and empty coffee cups all over my desk. Surprisingly enough, I always seem to know exactly where everything is among the clutter, but then sometimes I get a bee in my bonnet where I have to go from extreme mess to extreme neatness.
