Lucky Country | Relaxed Weekend Outfit

Lucky Country | Relaxed Weekend Outfit

Classic, red plaid is one of those essential winter patterns that just keeps making a comeback! Actually, I don’t think it’s ever really been out of fashion, which makes me wonder why it’s taken me so long to embrace it in my wardrobe!? Nonetheless, I’m feeling the whole country girl vibe right now and it’s all thanks to this cute as a button -seriously just wait ’till you see the cute shirttail button detail at the back-  plaid shirt from Lucky Brand…

All about those stripes!

All about those stripes!

Give a girl the right stripes, and she can rock any look! Well, in my case at least! I could live in stripes and IMO you can never have too many striped options in your wardrobe. I just love how stripes add that street style look to what ever you’re wearing, plus they are such versatile pieces.

Tommy Hilfiger Stripes – OOTD

Tommy Hilfiger Stripes – OOTD

I’m a total sucker for stripes! And nobody does stripes better than the king of stripes, Tommy Hilfiger. Red, blue and white are quintessentially Tommy and they are such beautiful shades for summer. This Tommy Hilfger satchel, is such a beaut! Those striped edges give it that extra special touch and it’s a great bag for day and night, weekend or office! And I know you’re all wondering about these shoes right… Aren’t they something to swoon over? They would have been perfect for this look, but I decided last minute to wear my wedges instead as I didn’t want to risk ruining them walking along the Durban promenade. But I mean…. They are gorgeous aren’t they? Thanks to Stuttafords, you can find your Tommy fix in store, or at the stand alone Tommy Hilfiger or Tommy Hilfiger Denim stores in Sandton City. Outfit Details Dress: Tommy Hilfiger Inez Bleached Denim Dress Bag: Tommy Hilfiger Chilli Pepper Satchel Wedges: Via Uno (old) Sunglasses: Prada Foldable Sunglasses Necklace: Lucky Brand

Black & White Floral Skirt – It’s Banana!

Black & White Floral Skirt – It’s Banana!

I’m excited to be bringing you my second look with Stuttafords today, and it’s a look that has me going Bananas! Lately, I’m all about skirts and Banana Republic has such amazing ones in beautiful black and white! It doesn’t get better than this! To be honest, I’ve never found high-low skirts to be very appealing. They are always too short in front and too long or again too short at the back and just look weird. But then, along came this Banana Republic skirt and I’m totally obsessed with it! It fits so beautifully and the cut is universally flattering. Plus it also has pockets – perfect for that street style look, and it can be worn in so many ways! I decided to stick with black and white for this lookbook, but this skirt would also look amaze with a pair of cute sandals and a crop top, or a pair of lace up boots (yes, you heard me) and a denim shirt tucked in for a bit of an edgier look that’s still fun and feminine. I’m wearing it with another great piece, also from Banana Republic – a gorgeous sheer black top that is once again,…

Late Afternoon (outfit of the day)

Late Afternoon (outfit of the day)

After that insane heatwave, I never thought I’d see green grass in Jozi. But after a week of beautiful, blissful rain, summer gardens are starting to look the part. I thought I’d take advantage of the beautiful weekend weather we had to show you gals my new, favourite piece of clothing. The gorgeous, Safar Ladies Suede Jacket from Old Khaki. I had been lusting after it since this post, and I had been locked onto the Old Khaki website, eagerly awaiting it’s arrival. The Safar waistcoat/jacket/ gilet (call it what you will) is one of my best purchases ever! It’s high quality, made from 100% suede, making it butter soft, luxurious and so insanely beautiful with it’s bohemian fringe detail. Outfit Details: Fringe Waistcoat – from Old Khaki {buy it online here} Maxi Skirt – (old) from Junkyard Angel Cream Vest – (old) from Woolworths Leather Wrap Belt – from Old Khaki {buy it online here} Gladiator Laceup Flats – Top Shop Cuff – from a little shop in Dullstroom

Bohemian Garden Party with Lucozade Pink Lemonade

Bohemian Garden Party with Lucozade Pink Lemonade

If given the chance, what would you do over in pink and with energy? To launch their delicious new flavour, Pink Lemonade, Lucozade is running an awesome competition where you could win your very own “do-over”. All you have to do is purchase a 500ml bottle of Lucozade Pink Lemonade,  SMS the underliner code and include your “Do Over” 33585. If I had the chance to do something over, #DoItWithPink and #DoItWithEnergy, I would totally do over my bridal shower. Not that I didn’t love being surrounded by my best friends and family, but in terms of a totally awesome “themed” shower – I’d have loved a little 70’s style bohemian garden party! One that starts at noon and goes well into the night. For that, we’ll need lots of energy, so there will be plenty of Lucozade Pink Lemonade on offer. When I got married, there was no Pinterest, so giving your bridesmaids a mood board filled with ideas on what you’d like wasn’t really an option. Back then, it was just your standard bridal shower with pink feather boa’s, afternoon “tea” and for the ones who survived the fun and games – a girls night out at some club. The club part was never…

I Woke Up Like This (outfit of the day)

I Woke Up Like This (outfit of the day)

Good morning guys! I hope you all had a fab weekend! This weekend I shot another little OOTD, with this totally cute graphic sweat shirt. I love graphic tees, so when I spotted this one at SheIn, I had to have it! For a sweatshirt, it was quite fitted, so I layered it over a white shirt to add more length to my torso – since I don’t like it when tops end just on my hip. Not a good look for an already “hippy” girl ya know what I mean! I think the white shirt with the collar peeking out also made the look a little more pulled together. Still casual, but not overly so! To brighten up my look and make it more weekend cool, I wore my new Dune London Ediamond yellow handbag. It’s not technically a cross-body bag, but it works perfectly as one for me! Then, I just added a fluffy little charm to my bag to add some fun and threw on a pair of ripped up boyfriend jeans, nude pointed flats and some blue accessories. Outfit Details I Woke Up Like This Sweater – Shein on sale! White shirt – Old Khaki (the same one I mentioned in this post) Handbag – Dune London Jeans…

Sweater Weather Faves – The Fringed Knit

Sweater Weather Faves – The Fringed Knit

Yay for sweater weather! Hands up if you’re as excited to bundle up in cozy knits as I am! And if you’re throwing your arms up in the air, what better way to do it than in this gorgeous, cozy knit “Precious Sweater” from Old Khaki? Just look at that fringe! I am obsessed! Since most knitted sweaters look a little boxy (on me at least), I found that the best way to balance it out, is to layer it over a pretty collard shirt worn with skinny jeans – perhaps even add a statement necklace to the mix. I wore my Precious Sweater the other day with a light wash denim shirt, dark wash skinny jeans, tan boots and it made for a perfect, pulled together winter look. Today, I went for a more muted palette, and paired my Precious Sweater with an extra long, viscose beige shirt, black leggings and my lived in Minnetonka Tramper boots. Then just stacked a few simple bracelets. I love the different textures of this knit. It gives it such a cozy, fluffy and beautiful effect, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say that it was the fringe that totally stole my heart! Get your Precious Knit from Old Khaki now (R499). I.…

Lightweight Trench – ootd

Lightweight Trench – ootd

I’m all for timeless pieces; a nude, double breasted trench, denim shirts, Hunter Boots, beautifully structured handbags and stylish sunglasses. And this is one of my favourite ways to put the whole look together! This lightweight apricot trench will be such a staple for Spring, but I couldn’t wait to wear it now! I usually wear an 8/small, but decided go get this one in a Medium, since I knew that I would be wearing it over something. I actually wish I had gone for the Large, just to give my arms more space when I wear it with something like my denim shirt. But nonetheless, I love it! I love how many different style options this lightweight trench offers, and although it’s not as thick or wintery as a classic trench, it’s still a great piece that offers the same, endless styling options. Like tying the belt at the back for example, which allows me to wear it open, but still ensuring that my outfit has a nice silhouette. Shop my Outfit Lightweight Trench Coat from Sheinside. It’s on SALE NOW 🙂 Levis Western Shirt – similar style here GAP Skinny Jeans Tumi Sinclair Stella Handbag – beige one here Hunter Boots. How cool are these? Lucky…

Shades of Grey #ootd

Shades of Grey #ootd

The winter chill is upon us, and all I want is to stay warm and fluffy all day long! Lately I’ve been living in my Riveria Edge to Edge longer length grey cardi from Old Khaki. It’s the softest, most snuggle worthy item of clothing I own and it goes with pretty much everything. Speaking of snuggle worthy, I’m also mildly obsessed with these cable knit fingerless gloves and my pom pom beanie (and I’ve still got my eye on this one). Outfit Details Grey, longer length cardi – Old Khaki (get it online here) Striped tee – Cotton On Fingerless gloves – Old Khaki (get them online here) Pom Pom beanie – Cotton On. Similar style here from Old Khaki Necklace – Lucky Brand Jeans – Luck Brand Leather Riding Boots – Tsonga Mug (my favourite) from Anthropologie

Weekend Uniform – Distressed Stripes #OOTD

Weekend Uniform – Distressed Stripes #OOTD

I’ve never met a striped tee I didn’t like. I guess you could say, I have a bit of an obsession when it comes to anything striped. You can never have too much. Especially like this really different striped tee, that I picked up from Old Khaki the other day… It’s the perfect mix of stripe, but with an edge. And I can bet, you don’t have anything like it in your collection? What makes the Lanah Tee different, is that the white has this really cool, distressed kinda effect going on. I paired mine with a green parka (I bought this one last year, but there’s a similar style here with a faux fur hoodie – ohh), blue Lucky Brand jeans, my trusty Converse high tops and a bling necklace. It was a little colder in morning, so I thought it the perfect opportunity to wear my super cute beanie with a huge, faux fur pom-pom. Get The Look Susana Chunky Pom-Pom Beanie Della Rose Parka Lanah Striped Tee Muneez Knitted Tassle Snood *Another piece that would add the perfect layering to this look And, I just had to share this cute pic… the photographers-assistant-turned-model, making sure he’s part…
