In June this year, Van Cleef & Arpels launched their new fragrance, Rêve in South Africa. Rêve is a soft, pink fragrance that beams with purity and harmony! I was excited to try this fragrance out, since I don’t have any fragrances by this House in my perfume collection. Can you believe that?! Although Rêve is a soft, romantic fragrance, it’s great as both a winter or summer scent. It has warmth and clarity, so you can wear it year round and smell gorgeous! The combination of the scent is a mix of fruits and white flowers with a subtle hint of oriental notes. Top notes include juicy pear and neroli, heart notes include osmanthus, peony and lilly, while the base notes comprise of sandalwood and amber. I am very much into my “spicy” scents and I love anything with amber notes. To me, this fragrance is radiant and pleasant, and while the “spice” is not very overpowering, you can definitely identify it. Nothing like changing up your fragrance to inspire the shift into a new season. I’m an ABSOLUE fragrance girl and there is no such thing as too much perfume. I am referring to “too much” in the sense of being a perfume hoarder and not “too much” as in overloading yourself with too many, or too much fragrance at the same time! Issey Miyake L’Eau d’Issey Absolue  This fragrance is ABSOLUEtely gorgeous! It’s got a very distinct Issey scent, with a glamorous new warmth! Ideal for Autumn. It’s got that floral presence without the frou frou (just the way I like it), coupled with a musky, spicy kick! “Cloaked in light during the day The night blooming-jasmine opens and shines only once the sun has set, leaving it’s trail The scent of it’s secret.” The structure of L’EAU D’ISSEY ABSOLUE is floral and luminous. The top note is brilliant purity with a luminous accord. Heart notes are illuminated by the Night-Blooming-Jasmine, which melts into the base notes of vanilla and elegant precious wood. Valentines Day is the perfect time to add some new, seductive scents to your fragrance collection… I’m not the biggest fan of floral scents, but I don’t mind a touch of floral. And that’s exactly what you can expect from the new pureDKNY fragrance, A Drop of Rose. It’s a lovely, pure fragrance with a touch of classic Turkish rose! pureDKNY rose begins in Turkey’s Isparta valley in the Anatolian flower fields, where the delicate pink blossoms of rose damascene variety are harvested early each summer. It follows a generations-old process that’s virtually unaffected by modern technology: The harvest season takes place each year in May/June, and each flower is hand-picked, one by one in the cool, pre-dawn hours. By season’s end, 2500 tons of petals have been bagged, weighed, and transported by truck to the distillery where they are gently rolled and processed through 26 stills. The end product is essential oil of rose, a potent raw material that’s later incorporated into the fragrance. Happy Friday! Today’s Fragrance Friday feature is for the guys. The new limited edition Chrome Summer by Azzaro is a brand new, fresh fragrance that will make your man smell amazing this summer. Launched by Azzaro in 2012, Chrome Summer is a real manly-man’s, scent with top notes of grapefruit and cardamom, heart notes of green aquatic and base notes of rosewood and ambergris. Overall it’s a woody, spicy fragrance and those types just happen to be my favourite types of scents for a man! I like a man Before I even showed my hubby (my review dummy for this feature) the bottle or told him what it was, after spraying it on him, his first comment was “smells summery”. I was quite impressed, as that’s exactly what this version of Azzaro Chrome is all about, Summer! The bottle features the same design as the original Chrome, however this one is covered with a fine metallic film, to give it an instantly “refreshing” look. Look how beautifully my garden reflects on the bottle, and when you hold it up, you can see right through it. I do also love the lid, which incorporates a chrome checker plate finish, so masculine indeed!

I am getting super excited about all the lovely new, light and floral fragrances launching for Spring. One of them, Azzaro Jolie Rose which comes in this beautiful pink bottle with an over sized pink “rose” lid. So pretty! A sparkling fragrance composed by Daphne Bugey of Firmenich, Jolie Rose evokes life, colour, softness and femininity. It’s a powdery blend of flowers with zesty, velvety fruits that rest on a musky-woody base. The top note is orchestrated by bright, bursting accents of citron and kumquat with tangy notes of blackcurrant. The heart is a shower of rose petals blended with violet and the transparent freshness of the pink water lily. While the base notes comprise of a vibrant and woody cedar and white musk. I am La Petite Robe Noire

PARIS is my kingdom.. I stroll through it at will. My light step leaves no eyes still. It’s the perfect little black dress! Guerlain’s new fragrance, La Petite Robe Noire, which translated from French means “Little Black Dress” is a gorgeous scent, that makes this week’s Fragrance Friday! It comes in a beautiful bottle, reminiscent of a French boutique and is packaged in it’s own little gift box – no wrapping necessary! The scent’s main note is unmistakably rose, but with a Parisian twist that kinda reminds me a little bit of YSL’s Parisienne. I’m not the biggest fan of rose fragrances because they always seem to sweet to me, but this one, although sweet has a lovely spicy personality! It makes me want to put on my very best little black dress, gather my hair in a fuss free bun, put on my highest heels and spin around the room like a ballerina. La Petite Robe Noir was first created in 2009 as a limited edition fragrance. In February last year, Guerlain launched the second limited edition fragrance and earlier this year, they decided to bring it back after Guerlain’s in-house perfumer, Thierry Wasser added his modification and French flair to the scent. This week, instead of featuring one fragrance, I’m going to share three lovely scents from Elizabeth Arden’s Green Tea collection. So why not make yourself a cup of steaming hot green tea, enjoy some crumpets (it is Friday after all) and check out these fab three scents… It started with the classic, Elizabeth Arden Green Tea, a somewhat simple fresh scent with a distinct Green Tea flavour. A scent that is not overpowering, nor is it bland, it’s an ideal fragrance for a day at the office when you want to make an impression, but not cloud your colleagues. Not your cup of tea? Then how about adding a dash of Lavender? The Elizabeth Arden Green Tea Lavender fragrance has the same, fresh scent as the original Green tea with, you guessed it, a splash of Lavender – mmm! I have to admit I was pretty excited to try this fragrance, seeing as though I’ve never tried an AZZARO fragrance before. AZZARO DUO, launched last month and is available for Women and Men; two beautiful bottles made to compliment each other and fit, just like the perfect couple. I was blown away by the bottles! They are made of a beautiful Molten metal and shaped like a tactical pebble to fit harmoniously with it’s precious counterpart – The AZZARO DUO for women is golden, while the AZZARO DUO for men is silver. My first thought though, was that it looked just like my Apple Magic Mouse? Both the men’s and women’s AZZARO DUO fragrances are linked by the freshness of grapefruit and the sensuality of musk!
