How to Give the Best Gifts this Christmas

How to Give the Best Gifts this Christmas

With Christmas 2020 less than half a month away, if you need a little help in the gift giving department, today I’m here to present you with my top tips and gift giving inspo to make your life a little easier. I can’t think of a single person who doesn’t love receiving gifts. But how many of us can truly say we are great gift givers? Do your gifts make your friends and family beam with enthusiasm, or do you notice them quietly cringing? As much as I love gifts myself, I really enjoy buying gifts for others. Sometimes, I get really stressed out about what to buy them, because I don’t like adding clutter to someones life -which I am sure many of us can relate to. If you feel the same right now, relax, take a deep breath and let me help you make those gift decisions much easier by following my top tips: # Numero Uno – Don’t like it? Don’t Give it When shopping for gifts, those random nicknacks you hate clogging your house, will be equally unappreciated when giving them as gifts. My numero uno tip when buying gifts is never gift anyone something you wouldn’t like…

The Stocking Stuffer Gift Guide

The Stocking Stuffer Gift Guide

Stocking stuffers can be so much fun and with all the festive markets happening right now, you could probably find really cute, unique things that will make great stocking stuffers. If not, hopefully my suggestions today will inspire some ideas, and best of all you can shop them online. I like to find stocking stuffers that are fun and Christmassy, so think yummy treats, delicious smells and cuteseys that make it all the more festive. Ceramic Gingerbread Diffusers Okay, so stocking stuffers should not be expensive, and I know I’ve started on the pricey side (with the most expensive stocking stuffer), but hear me out. You don’t have to gift the whole pack of three ceramic gingerbread diffusers in one stocking. If you’re looking for cute ideas that are christmassy and fun to stuff your stockings these Gingerbread Scented Ceramic Diffusers from Zara Home (R479 – R160 each if you divide them into three stockings) will release that wonderful smell of freshly baked ginger bread cookies. While it’s a very Christmasy smell, the scent is also warm and cozy and your gift receiver could also hang the diffuser in a wardrobe after the season and indulge in that yummy smell…

Gift Guide: Lovely Linen Luxuries

Gift Guide: Lovely Linen Luxuries

So, as you may have figured, particularly from my Instagram stories, I am a wee bit obsessed with linen fabric at the moment. And guess what? I am not alone! It’s no wonder everyone loves linen, with it being such a hardy, beautiful and elegant fabric that actually looks better with age. It wears so well, it washes so well and best of all, it’s long lasting. Giving the gift of linen this festive season is a perfect choice if you’re looking for a special gift, particularly for people who love quality, and who you may think have everything they need. IMO, you can never have too much linen! And I don’t mean bed sheets (which half the time are anything but actual linen fabric, although those do exist, albeit at a price – but that’s another subject all together). Now before we get into today’s gift guide, be warned that you may think these suggestions are simple, but that’s exactly the kind of person who would appreciate a linen gift. Not a simple person, NO, NO, but rather a person who appreciates simplicity. Someone who appreciates beautiful, timeless things rather than bold, outrageous gifts that lose their lustre far…

Gifts for the Plant Mama’s & Budding Botanists

Gifts for the Plant Mama’s & Budding Botanists

In the last couple of years, plant parenting has become a major thing, and I for one am glad! I love, love, love plants! In fact, if I had my way, I’d turn my entire house into a full on jungle, but then I think, hello spiders and I’m like errrr, no thanks! So my gardening is reserved for outdoors, with some house plants to keep me happy. As someone who enjoys digging my hands in the soil and watching mother nature bless me with her bounty, I’ve put together a little gift guide which I think fellow plant lovers (no matter their level of gardening enthusiasm) will love. Ponytail Palm Mossball This is a great plant for new plant mama’s who want a plant to take care of, but don’t want to be 100% dedicated to nurturing their new babies. Plantify, has a range of gorgeous mossball plants, which are hand-tied using the classic Japanese Kokedama technique, which helps to keep the roots moist and easy to care for. The best thing about mossball’s is that you can stand them (no pot needed) or use them in beautiful hanging pots or macrame planters. I love the Ponytail Palm Mossball…

When it comes to shopping for friends or family, it can often be difficult to not overload them with more useless knicknakcs that they don’t actually need. Where to Buy the Best Leggings

Where to Buy the Best Leggings

Legging season is upon us! Hands up if you live in your leggings! Don’t be afraid to raise your hand – I know, leggings have got such a bad rap at times, because well, people wear them and they look frumpy. But I think leggings are the best! I do really live in mine, and I think if you wear leggings as part of a look – in other words, you’ve put an actual look together – they can look fantastic!

How To Shop Smarter, Spend Less & Love Your Wardrobe

Buying new clothes can be exciting. It can also be a taunting experience, never mind stressful; especially with the big fat dent that’s left in your wallet. New season means new clothes right? Wrong! Over the years, I’ve learnt to shop smarter. I was just tired of having a cupboard full of clothes, and still faced with the common dilemma that is I have nothing to wear!

3 Looks Made in Italy {OOTD}

3 Looks Made in Italy {OOTD}

I discovered such a fab range the other day, exclusive to Stuttafords called Made In Italy.  It’s not a single brand, but rather a collection of beautifully designed clothes from various labels that are Made in Italy; among them the brands Rinascimento, SUR REALE and Studio IKO Italia. It was the SUR REALE faux suede jacket that caught my eye, with it’s mesmerising fringe detailing. Once I started looking at the different ranges, there were such pretty clothes, and so much fringe – did someone read my mind? I just want to twirl and twirl! Today, I’ll share three looks, with some on trend, gorgeous pieces all from the Made in Italy range at Stuttafords… Look #1 This look is one of my faves! I love the mix of texture in this look. A black faux leather dress paired with this beautiful, lightweight SUR REALE faux suede jacket is so me! I’m not much of a “dress” girl, but every now and then I find a cute dress with a bit of “edge” and then I want to be a dress girl. This faux leather dress by Rinascimento is super cute. I love the beautiful laser cut detailing and the fit is perfecto! Look #2 For something a little dressy, but more effortless and comfortable in this heat,…

Let’s Shop Summer at Old Khaki

Let’s Shop Summer at Old Khaki

I love collab-ing with Old Khaki to bring you gals my favourite in-store picks every month. With summer on the way, I’m done winter shopping and so excited with the summer selection on offer this month. I’m in love with everything I bought, and although it may not “go together” as one outfit, I know that these pieces will get a lot of wear this summer. So what did I buy? First up, these beautiful espadrilles I mentioned in yesterday’s post. I friggin love them! I don’t own a pair of espadrilles (until know) and seriously, I don’t know where they have been all my life. They are T-H-E comfiest shoes ever, and I love the faded blue and white stripe on the Rare Earth Bailey Espadrilles. Definitely a summer essential! These will be great for casual weekend wear, road trips and travel. Next up, a bright, fun cami for summer… You gals know I’m all boho-friggin-crazy, so there was no way I could resist this bright, beautiful and certainly eye catching cami. This one I’m wearing is the “Saffron” but I’m going back for the  “Ines” one too! It’s nice and loose fitting – made from my favourite, rayon – and the print is wild! Look at…

The Summer Wishlist

The Summer Wishlist

My summer wish list is growing by the day, and as the weather gets warmer, the wish list gets bigger. Here’s a peek at what’s on my summer radar this season… This summer I’m all about easy breasy dresses like this beautiful rayon dress or this adorable lace dress. They look so pretty on the their own, or I picture them dressed up with a beautiful statement necklace or a pretty stack ring and nothing but a pair of rose gold sandals (like this pair from Dune London, the Lotti R899). My makeup this summer will be minimal, but I don’t think I’d be able to live without a pop of hot pink lips (loving the new Rouge Allure Velvet from Chanel in L’Indomptable) and of course, a little bronzing and contouring will go a long way. For bags this season, can you find anything cuter than a goes-with-everything bucket bag? Another fave this gorgeous embellished clutch. I’ve still got my heart set on the Chloe Drew Bag. I’m really looking forward to soaking up the sun this season, lazing on the beach in this cute two piece swimsuit. It will look even cuter on a gorgeous blue round beach towel from The Beach People. Bliss What are…
