New Summer Scents: Sexy & Seductive (Part 2)

New Summer Scents: Sexy & Seductive (Part 2)

If you’re still looking for that purrr-fect summer scent, I’ve got you covered! Last week, I showed you gals some beautiful new floral, fruity and feminine fragrances, and today, I’ll share the more seductive summer scents… Six beautiful scents by three Italians, two Dutchmen, one German and one American… Which one is your fave? Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Sunset in Salina The original Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue has been one of my all time favourite fragrances for years (and no, it’s not just because of David Gandy…) Their new, limited edition update for ladies, Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Sunset in Salina (R1310 for 100ml EDT) is absolutely gorgeous! It’s described as a “floral, fresh fragrance”, but I would certainly describe it as one of the sexiest summer scents to date! It passionate, warm and energetic – a perfect reflection of the pure joy and soul of the Mediterranean. Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue Sunset in Salina opens with the aroma of fresh Vine Leaves, fused with the brightness of Violet Leaves. The heart notes unleash the sweetness and seductive charm of Yellow Freesia, accompanied by Orange Flower and Jasmine. The dry down of the fragrance is a warm embrace of Ambery notes, Cedarwood and White Musky notes. I think I’ve…

Army Green Military Trench

Army Green Military Trench

I have a new obsession with trenches lately! They are such easy pieces that you can just throw on to instantly upgrade your look and make it more polished. Right now I’m loving this Lightweight, Green Epaulette Coat from SheIn – my new fave online shopping destination. As we say goodbye (and good riddance) to winter and hello to Spring, this trench will probably become my new BFF! I can picture a cute summer look with a little white tee, denim cut offs and gladiator sandals or even Converse… Hmmm! Yesterday, in Jozi we got to experience a little taste of warmer weather, so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to wear this coat to an exciting fragrance launch (more on that soon). My look started with a hat, but quickly changed thanks to the wind deciding it was a no go (hence all the face touching in my pics). I am glad though, that I got at least one shot with the hat, because I love how it makes this look more wintery. I also really love the flap detail at the back of the coat, and the subtle hint of epaulettes on the shoulder which give it that military feel. Oh, it’s also got built in shoulder pads, which are perfecto…

Give me Sunglasses! New Season Styles

Give me Sunglasses! New Season Styles

Nothing can quite compare to being in a room, filled with sunglasses! I mean, it’s a dangerous place for a sunglass addict like me to roam free, but at the same time, it feels so right! I got a chance to take a peek at the new sunglass styles coming our way from all the fabulous Luxottica brands at their recent Buyers’ Days… So let’s start with some beauts from Dolce & Gabbana… Dolce & Gabbana know how to do wow! I mean WOW! Those first shades… gorgeous and very typically Dolce & Gabanna! I love the second and third pic too! Leopard Print is a true Dolce & Gabbana signature, while the polka dotty shades, have me singing, itsy bitsy tiny weeny polka dot bikini… (just change it from yellow to red okay!) And then there was Prada… Prada’s are my fave sunglasses. Chic, stylish and they always have the most amazing temple (the little arm thingie, – read my Sunglass anatomy post so that you know how to correctly refer to each piece). They’ve nailed the amazing temple once again and I love how they’ve mixed up the colours as well. Prada Baroque is back with a blinged out look! I absolutely love this style! But, sadly…

The Tribe Has Spoken! New IN, H&M Woven Skirt

For once in my life, I saw something worn by one of the blogs I follow, and could actually drive to H&M (coz you know, I was in Greece) and get it! I was so amped! Now all that’s left, is to lose the 3 (blooming, bladdy, friggin) kilos I gained eating Gyro’s in Greece and I then I can rock my new baby! My Inspiration

Anatomy of Sunglasses

Anatomy of Sunglasses

Pay attention kids, today’s lesson is all about the Anatomy of Sunglasses… Do you refer to the bits and pieces that make up glasses or sunglasses using all the wrong terms? I remember once referring to the temples as “arms” and I got the strangest look! Has this happened to you? A couple of weeks ago, Luxottica posted a Facebook update, illustrating the “anatomy of glasses“. I loved this, and being a freak for sunglasses, I wanted to do my own, StyleScoop version using my new Aviators, baby! If you’re fellow sunglass freak like me, you should at least know the proper terminology when talking about sunglasses. That way we can all understand each other and sound as larney as we look in our shades 🙂 So these are my new VERSACE Aviator sunglasses. Remember I spoke about how much I was lusting after these shades after they stole my heart at the Luxottica Day back in April? Well, they are now mine baby! And I love everything about them! These are also my first pair of Polarized lenses. Now, I can totally understand why my husband insisted on getting Polarized Oakleys as opposed to the normal ones! It makes such it a difference, especially when driving.

Shady Business; A Day With Luxottica Checking Out The Sunglasses

A few days ago I was invited to attend the Luxottica Days showcase at the Oysterbox Hotel in Durban. A day filled with sunglasses and a chance for me to check out some of the fabulous range of sunglasses on offer this season. The event is like one big, fat, indulgent sunglass party! Now, if you know me at all (or read my blog), you’ll know that “I enjoy the little things in life… Shoes, Handbags and (instead of Jewelry) Sunglasses!” A girl can never have too many pairs of fabulous shades. Here’s a little peek at some of the stylish shades that caught my eye. Please comment below and let me know what your favourite pair is! I’d love to hear your opinions! Versace Aviators! Versace To Return to the Couture Catwalk

Versace To Return to the Couture Catwalk

Great news for the Italian fashion house, Versace who is making a comeback on the Couture Catwalk! Set to stage two shows at the Ritz Hotel Paris in July this year, the Italian mega fashion brand is making it’s couture catwalk comeback. The hotel holds a special place in Donatella Versace’s heart, as it was there that her late brother Gianni, had his last runway show in 1997 before his death. Following the show on July 1st 2012, the hotel also plans on closing for an extensive renovation and Donatella is pleased that she can show there before it closes. “It is with tremendous emotion that I return to the Ritz where I shared so many special moments with my brother” Donatella told WWD. “The closing of the Ritz Paris for two years represents the end of an era but also the beginning of a new one, so to be able to show Atelier Versace there one last time will be a memorable milestone” she added Image credit: Bangshowbiz used with permission

Rubybox – A look inside

I got another little box of treats, this time from the fab, stylish ladies over at Rubybox! I tell you, these beauty boxes are so awesome! It’s like having a mini birthday every month! The April RubyBox came with all sorts of surprises… take a peek inside mine… Elizabeth Arden Prevage Day Intensive Anti-Aging Moisture Cream SPF 30 A little while ago I reviewed their awesome eye cream, now I’m super stoked to try out their Day cream too. The Rubies, that’s what the gorg gals at Rubybox are called, sent me a nice little sample version that I’ll add to my travel beauty bag! It’s basically a multi-defensive moisturizing day cream that shields your skin from UVA/UVB rays and helps keep it youthful and healthy! Elizabeth Arden Prevage Night Anti-Aging Restorative Cream Great to get the day and night cream to be able to use them together! The EA Prevage night cream works in sync with your skin’s sleep cycle, repairing and restoring it overnight. Piz Buin Sun Lotion I’ve always loved Piz Buin, but I’ll admit I haven’t bought it in yonks! It’s one of the golden oldies of amazing sun care that’s fab! My Rubybox came with…

Trend Report – Wear Khaki With Style

Khaki is cool! No, I’m not talking about Jock of the Bushveld Khaki here, I’m talking about trendy, stylish and uber cool Khaki – A trend that designers such as Adam, Tommy Hilfiger and more incorporated into their Spring/ Summer 2010 collections. Think olive greens, casual camel with long draping accessories, clean, clear, naturally beautiful skin and pretty eyes. This style is laid back and looks totally effortless yet so uber chic. Jessica Alba pulls it off perfectly and we’ve got the inside scoop on how you can steal Jessica’s look. Khaki done right Jessica is actually wearing these Vintage Olive Houlihan pants from JBrand. They are cargo pants with a sexy edge and they’re available from Shop-Label.com (for R2940) This neutral striped vest by Gap is perfect to get this look and it’s available from ASOS.com. They ship to SA, so you can get your hands on it. Jessica finishes her look with a lightweight waterfall cardigan similar to this one from Full Circle (available from ASOS.com). Also check out Woolies, as they have many great, very similar styles in all the right colours. Strappy heels with a wooden platform like these camel beauties from Witchery (R1199) would be…
