Manifesto L’Elixir from YSL

I’ve missed Fragrance Friday’s, have you? How beautiful is this amethyst, jewel-like bottle of Manifesto L’Elixir from YSL? It’s the new, “updated” version of YSL’s Manifesto perfume that launched in 2012. I haven’t smelt Manifesto, but I do believe that Manifesto L’Elixir is the more seductive and more intense version of the original. Now, if you read my blogs and fragrance reviews, you’ll know that I generally favour the more intense stuff, and I do love EDP (eau da parfum), since the fragrance develops and generally lasts all day. Manifesto L’Elixir starts off with crisp and tangy top notes of bergamot and mandarine. Jasmine sambac absolute, heliotrope blossoms accord and tuberose absolute form a heart of sensuality, and it finishes with velvety base notes of cashmeran, vanilla bean and ambroxan. It’s really a unique kind of fragrance – for me at least. It’s a little more grown up than florals, and although it’s sophisticated, it still maintains a classy element of seduction According to Fragrantica (the mother of all fragrance databases), Manifesto L’Elixir‘s main accord is vanilla, followed by citrus.
