Last week I got to meet with the lovely Vincent from Crabtree and Evelyn and check out their store in La Lucia Mall. Upon entering the doors, my senses were filled with delight by the gorgeous smell combinations, from the beautifully packaged, distinctly British products. The Crabtree & Evelyn range consists of fabulous body creams, lotions and potions, fragrances and home products – because your home should always smell as good as you! Plus, the Cape Town store also has a food range consisting of biscuits, jams and other yummy goodies.
I chatted to Vincent about the brand and got a sneak peak at what’s coming our way. New fragrances, body creams and gorgeous ranges to make any girl feel like a royal princess! One of my favourite new products, and I was lucky to be given a bottle of this gorgeous smell to take home and enjoy, is the fragrance from the new India Hicks Collection – Island Night, which launches in September 2009.
When it comes to fragrances I prefer spicy smells to floral notes and this one is right up there on my list of top frangrances – Right next to my bottle of Angel, Dolce Gabanna Red and Jo Malone Pomegranate Noir. The marketing behind the India Hicks Island Night range is inspired by the life of Inda Hicks and her Carribean lifestyle. “The range captures the essense of twilight in the sands, a mood of barefoot elegance on an eveining lit only by stars and moon”.
Mmm! Just one wiff and your mind is transported to a beautiful Carribean beach, where you’re relaxing under the stars with the gentle waves crashing as your soundtrack. The range consists of and EDT spray (R650/ 100ml), a Creamy Body Wash (R280/ 200ml), Milky Bath (R350/ 250ml), Rich Body Cream (R400/ 200g), Smooth Body Lotion (R280/ 240ml), Scented Candle (R500/ 50 hours burn time) and a Fragrance Diffuser.
The entire range is elegant and indulgent and I absolutely love their diffuser and scented candle. The diffuser, which comes in a beautiful amethyst-coloured glass and holds black, curly willow reeds (inspired by the limbs of a favourite tree – a hurricane survivor that clings to the shallows) will make a beautiful decor piece in your home.
