For my bedroom, I really wanted to create a calm and peaceful sanctuary. I wanted it to have a bohemian minimalist feel with an emphasis on texture and using muted colours that work in harmony to create that calming space.
Texture plays a big part when it comes to decorating throughout my home and I love adding bits of texture, layers and patterns that come together to reflect my personal taste.View Post
Keeping your home clean and tidy is hard work, let’s not beat around the bush, but it doesn’t have to be a horrible chore that makes you want to run and hide.
Today, I wanted to share a couple of tricks I’ve picked up along the way that have changed the way I think about cleaning – dare I say it, I actually enjoy cleaning my house! So, hopefully if you’re not feeling it, I can help to inspire you.
Because at the end of the day, no matter how stylish your home, a clean home is so much better!View Post
Turkish Towels were one of those things I always wanted, but had never been entirely convinced on how effective they really are. Sure they look fabulous and effortlessly stylish in bathrooms (and on beaches), but do they actually work in terms of drying you after a shower or a swim?
The answer is YES, and today and I’m going to tell you all about my obsession with Turkish Towels, what they are and why you need these gorgeous towels in your life!View Post
Sourdough bread is by no means the easiest, but it is by far the most rewarding. I’ve had incredible rises and incredible flops, bread that will make your tastebuds sing and bread that will not! I’ve had flour stuck to my hands, dried to my face and my poor hands bear the scars of countless oven burns.
I’ve experimented with many different techniques, from cultivating my own wild yeast starter from scratch, to reviving and feeding a 101 year old mother from Italy. I am by no means a pro at this, but I’ve loved every second of the rewarding process of making sourdough bread.View Post
hen it comes to styling up my home, I love nothing more than surrounding my space with unique pieces that add character, warmth and above all, make my home an extension of my personality.
Last year, after scouring the internet for macrame pieces and not finding the one that spoke to me, I decided to try my hand at this craft. Knotting ropes is oddly soothing and I especially love that once a project is finished, I can display my own creation in my home.View Post
I’ve been spending a helluva lot of time in my kitchen these days, and I ain’t gonna lie, I kinda like it. Besides organizing like crazy (my cupboards have never looked more calming to open, and my pantry organization makes me want to skip), but I’ve actually really enjoyed cooking during the lockdown period. It’s like I went to sleep on the 26th March and woke up a Greek woman the next day – ready to feed my army, with passion and pride (insert muscle flexing emoji). Even though, my army technically consists of the hubby and me (and the doggies of course) but, I am enjoying the whole cooking and making and creating process these days.View Post
recently partnered with an incredible local food blogger (and food scientist), Astrid Field from The Sweet Rebellion to host a little giveaway for her new book, High Tea At Home for my Instagram followers. While the giveaway has ended, I’ve received a lot of requests to share this recipe which I tried, and posted on my feed.
These Chocolate Caramel Crumble Squares are just heaven on earth, and so much more exciting than chocolate brownies – and I do love my brownies.View Post
Tis the season to be merry and I’m getting ready and working on my festive gift guides. But first, let’s talk about the most festive of all, your Christmas Tree! I love putting up my tree and I love decorating it, so today I thought I’d kick off the StyleScoop Holiday Season with some ideas to create the perfect festive cheer in your home.View Post
Here on StyleScoop, when I talk about “sumptuous treats” I’m usually referring to make up and beauty products. But today, I’m talking about actual mouth-watering, sumptuous treats from Crabtree & Evelyn. Oh la la!
Can you think of anything more British than traditional afternoon tea out in the Garden? How about breakfast with hot buttered toast, loaded with delicious preserves? YUM!View Post
Staying over at friends or family for the weekend can be fun, but it can also feel a little impersonal. Of course you’ll miss your own home, your own space and having your things at arm’s reach, but often the nuisance of having to bring all your beauty items “just in case” can become annoying. So what do you do? Make sure your guests enjoy their stay with you by turning your guest bathroom into their own little beauty sanctuary. Obviously, you don’t have to go all-out and make your guest bathroom resemble a spa or a hotel (unless you have the means and the ways), but there are a few finishing touches you can incorporate to make it a little more indulgent.View Post
There’s something to be said about winter and good food! The two just go hand in hand, which is why I love a little chilly season indulgence (we can work it off in summer okay). I got to sample some of the new season treats from Woolies (always a fave place to shop for the yummiest treats) and wanted to give you gals the inside scoop on what you should be adding to your trolley this season. Rusks Rusks are always a winter winner! Who doesn’t love dunking a yummy rusk into coffee or tea first thing in the morning? I sure do! Be sure to lookout for two new Rusk variants at Woolworths; My favourite, The Waffle Rusk – baked in waffle pans, dipped in syrup and dried to make the perfect dunk worthy rusk and The No Added Sugar Ayrshire Buttermilk Rusk which is made using sucralose and the sweetness of Ayrshire Buttermilk. All of the yumminess with none of the calories. Also, if you’re not into overly sweet treats, then this is a must for you! Coffee So many yummy flavours of coffee on offer at Woolworths. Be sure to try their new lineup; Organic Ground Coffee Blend, a 100% Arabica coffee that’s…View Post
