Mother’s Day Fragrances – Opium

Opium from YSL is Yves Saint Laurent’s masterpiece! A classic, iconic and cult fragrance that is world renowned for it’s potent, mythical scent! It’s also a perfect gift for mum this Mother’s day! When I was younger the only person I liked Opium on was my aunt, who also happened to spill a whole bottle of Opium in her car! Needless to say, when she moved to The States, her car still smelt beautifully of Opium even after years of sitting in storage! It’s just one of those really, really strong scents, and like my beloved Angel, you only need a teeny-tiny amount! It’s also not a scent for everyone, it really has to combine well with your skin and personality. As I grow up, I really like this scent more and more and the longer I let it develop, the more I like it! Opium opens on a wave of Mandarin and Bergamot, revealing an opulent brew of Jasmine, enlivened by spicy carnation. These are warmed by a carnal and thrilling wake fevered by vanilla, amber and patchouli.
