Midnight Blooms

It may be winter – but I have Spring In My Step! I’ll admit, I’m not usually one to wear running shoes or sneakers outside of the gym – but these New Balance Midnight Blooms are so beautiful, so comfy and so darn cute, they are the perfect casual kicks that don’t look overly sporty! I actually love them! The Fresh Foam Zante soles makes them feel like I’m walking on air and let’s be honest – who could complain about looking down and seeing a gorgeous tropical print at their feet?

Throw Back Thursday! Remember this? #TBT

My, how time, tastes and desires change! I often write things, then forget about them. It is so weird to stumble on to something you wrote four years ago and be like, really, I said that? The other day I was just browsing around the blog and happened to click onto this post. Total blast from the past, and I thought it would be so fitting for a Throwback Thursday post. The GUESS bag… I don’t know, maybe I’ve grown up, maybe I’ve out grown it, or maybe it’s just so overdone, but I’ve totally lost interest in GUESS bags all together. I totally love their jeans and their “more plainer” clothes, but their bags just make me cringe! Too much bling ehy!? It’s funny how, since the post I did, where I swooned over GUESS bags, I don’t think I’ve even taken my GUESS bag out of it’s dust bag. It’s probably in pretty good nick, but it’s so not me anymore. Too many in your face bags and and over load of horrid fakes have totally put me off this bag. Anyone else feel the same?

GUESS Denim Drive

Last weekend Gateway was cooking! DJ Euphonik was there, heating up the GUESS store, spinning the decks as part of GUESS Denim Drive campaign. Such a fabulous campaign that runs until the 15th December, with loads of exciting competitions and in store events. I was at the Lady GAGA concert in Jozi (boo), but from what I am told, the GUESS Gateway event was a truly fun filled day! Euphonik drew massive crowds with his fresh and funky beats, giving shoppers a chance to check out the gorgeous GUESS merchandise on offer and of course, giving away GUESS shopping vouchers. Even though I couldn’t be there in the flesh, my “eyes” were there to bring you some behind the scenes pics of the event, as well as scoop up the latest, hottest, most amazing trends on offer at GUESS right now. TREND REPORT: Riding Style

Next month, my hometown of Durban plays host to The Vodacom Durban July; one of Durban’s and SA Fashion’s hottest events! With all the hype leading to raceday, combined with a new found love for my riding boots (which I finally found after years of searching), this month’s Trend Report is all about being a stylish Equestrian. Now, as much as I love this style of dressing, I wouldn’t recommend wearing a riding-style outfit to The July – even though it would make more sense to trot around the grass laden race track in comfy flats and a jacket, instead of your sheer, backless couture designer gown and sky high heels – in winter! As for any other day, I definitely think this look rocks, even if you have no actual connection on the Mink and Manure belt. GUESS Capsule Collection

At the Guess 30th Birthday breakfast, we were introduced to some of gorgeous items in the Guess Capsule collection, which is a limited edition collection of pieces that capture the brand’s industry changing creations. Drawing inspiration from iconic pieces that are stored in the GUESS archives, the Guess Capsule Collection combines original styling and vintage washes with modern influences. It follows the unique stone and acid washed, hand-treated denim designs which have always been a major part of the GUESS roots. Woven labels, buttons and rivets embrace the same aesthetic as original pieces which mirror the assortment of American and Italian fabrics used in the collections from the 1980s. The Capsule Collection features retro button front, gingham tops with tie-waists, colourful vintage tees with the original GUESS logo, a long-sleeve leopard print chiffon top and a feminine lace bustier, all initially worn by iconic GUESS models which Claudia Schiffer made famous in her first GUESS campaign. Last week I attended GUESS‘ 30th Birthday Breakfast at their Gateway Store, where we got to celebrate with Mimosa’s and GUESS red-velvet cupcakes. Not only is GUESS the big three-oh, but they are celebrating in style with an ad campaign that features one of the original “GUESS girls”, Claudia Schiffer – who still looks smoking hot – together with the launch of a limited edition capsule collection. The GUESS Capsule Collection is beautiful and captures the brand’s industry changing creations over the past 30 years! Scents of the Season – Guess Seductive

Today’s scent of the season is the new GUESS fragrance for women, simply called “Seductive”. A zesty and flirty scent that’s rich and vibrant. It was created by perfumer Veronique Nyberg, who imagined an irresistible scent that exudes temptation, flirtatiously drawing in those around the woman who wears it. It teases the senses, captivates attention, and leaves a lingering sensation of addiction. Although there are distinct floral notes, the vanilla and cashmere wood give this scent a champagne like aroma – treating the senses to a vibrant mix of flavours. It’s definitely a fragrance for flirty females, yet it’s not overpowering.
