Hi There

Make A Wish And Grow Your Lashes

Make A Wish And Grow Your Lashes

Who doesn’t want super long, full flutter lashes? The only people I’ve ever heard complaining about their eyelashes being too long are men, which makes me wonder, was there a mix up in the making of Adam and Eve? If you’re blessed with long, full lashes, I really envy you! If you’re more like me with barely there lashes, don’t worry because help is at hand! More and more beauty companies are out there researching solutions to help our lashes grow. One product, I’ve tried, tested and love is Rapid Lash. It’s quite an expensive product, but it really works. You’ve just got to be consistent with it, and in a few weeks you will notice the difference! Revlon also has an interesting mascara called Grow Luscious. I’ve only just started using it, so haven’t seen the lash growing results yet, but apart from its “lash enhancing” ingredients that work over time to assist the natural growth of your lashes, it’s a pretty good mascara. I do like the supersized brush and after three coats my lashes look long and lovely! It would be an awesome bonus if this mascara could actually make my lashes grow at the same time. For some reason, lately I’ve…

Beauty Scoop: Pump up the volume with MAC Zoom Lash

Beauty Scoop: Pump up the volume with MAC Zoom Lash

This week I got to try out Zoom Lash mascara by MAC.  It’s a mascara that adds loads of volume and thickens your lashes, giving you dramatic, lashes that are literally, blacker than black! What I like about this mascara is that it really does add loads of volume.  Volume (and length) is something my lashes are lacking.  Even better, is you only really need one coat and you’re done. But because Im all for va-va-voom lashes, I applied two, sometimes three coats to really intensify my lashes. Taking it off is another story, but it’s all worth it because your lashes stay pumped-up for pretty much as long as you’re wearing this mascara.  Invest in a good eye makeup remover and you’ll have no problem removing this mascara, but simple cleanser won’t do the trick. I would also suggest you let the top lashes dry before you apply a coat to your lower lashes to avoid smudging. Suggested Retail price is R110 Lookout for ZOOM FAST BLACK LASH DEEPEST LASH Mascara available in October 2009.

The Lash Review – Beads and beyond

The Lash Review – Beads and beyond

This week I’ve upped the Glam factor a bit and tried out lashes that are a bit flashier than the rest.  Long and sexy, the 009 lashes have tiny pearls attached to the end.  Check out my review and stand the chance to win this week’s lashes.  As always, this lash review is brought to you by  Eyelash Central, who stock a full range of fabulous lashes for any occasion.   The Review: Dimi Says: These lashes kind of remind me of the lashes Cindy Nell is wearing in the South African version of Strictly Come Dancing.  The tiny beads on the ends really make your eyes sparkle.  The lashes themselves are long and pretty, getting longer toward the end of the lash line.  The thick black line that sits against your lash line means you don’t even need to apply eyeliner as it’s all built in.  However, I would suggest that you still blend a bit of liner onto your lash line to make the lashes look more authentic. In terms of application, these are so far the easiest to apply See for yourself:

The Lash Review – Purple passion

The Lash Review – Purple passion

This week I “lashed out” a bit and decided to go for a set of colourful, playful, purple lashes to review in the weekly feature.  The feature, by the way is brought to you by Eyelash Central, who stock a full range of fabulous lashes for any occasion.  Anyway, it seems as though I am getting better at applying the lashes – by my 8th week, I’ll probably be a pro! The Review: Dimi Says: I really liked wearing these ones.  The purple is very subtle, but very effective and are not much of an in-yer-face change.  When I asked a friend, who had seen me with the first pair of black lashes we reviewed, she said that the purple ones looked more natural.  So Either my application skills are getting better, or it could be the finer lashes (and less volume than the black ones), that made these appear to be more natural looking. See for yourself: Oh, another tip when using the glue – instead of dropping it onto the lash, rather slide the lash across the glue wand.  The glue that comes with these lashes has a wand applicator, which makes it really easy!
