This fragrance is the brand’s latest version of La Panthere EDP from 2014, following the same beautiful story from Cartier’s heritage.
La Panthère is named after Louis Cartier’s muse, Jeanne Toussaint. It means, “The Panther” and it was a nickname she acquired from her good friend, Coco Chanel around 1938.
Toussaint later, in 1933 became Director of Fine Jewellery for the brand and the Panther has lived on in so many of Cartier’s most iconic designs. You know what I’m talking about right? The Panthère de Cartier rings that retail for an insane amount of money!
The bottle of Cartier La Panthère Eau De Parfum Légère reveals the jewel of 2016! Faceted like a Cartier diamond and revealing the soul of the Panthère, which is sculpted on the inside and outside of the bottle. The bottle is so special, that around 4000 bottles were thrown away before the bottle design was approved.
The scent is luminous and delicate, with notes of Gardenia and Musk.

When I attended the Cartier Fragrance press launch a few month’s ago, we were indulged not only a gorgeous French setting in the heart of Jozi, but also got a chance to experience all the Cartier fragrances that we in South Africa, can now get our hands on!
