Ladies, brace yourselves for Chanel’s new autumn makeup collection, Collection Superstition that launches in South Africa on the 16th August! Gabrielle Chanel believed in luck. Her private world was filled with talismans, which served both as good-luck charms and sources of inspiration. The Autumn 2013 Collection reinterprets superstition with a playful and surrealist spirit. Mixing sumptuous tones of bronze, taupe and khaki with the magic of a golden beige, intense pink or burgundy palette, like a joyful prediction of beauty. I got to play around with some of the makeup, and as always, I am in love! CHANEL makeup never seems to disappoint! Their products are such high quality and totally worth the splurge! The LES 4 OMBRES MYSTÈRE quad is gorgeous! It has both muted and slightly shimmered shades that can be used in many different combinations. The black shade (top left) has a gorgeous undertone of golden sparkle, as does the golden ivory next to it. The colours below include two shades of Khaki and are lovely. As with all Chanel Eye shadows, they are super high quality, highly pigmented and there is no fall out, so you don’t waste a single speckle! As if you didn’t know it already, I’m a huge fan of Chanel Makeup! On the 21st June 2013, their latest, (limited edition) makeup collection L’ÉTÉ PAPILLON DE CHANEL will hit Chanel counters nationwide! The colourful collection has been inspired by butterfly wings. Creative Director of Chanel Makeup, Peter Phillips used the most vibrant hues to compose a poetic beauty look that combines energy, playfulness and the carefree feel of summer! Such beautiful colours that will brighten up any mood, but keeping it classy and fabulous, in true Chanel spirit! To me, Chanel Makeup is the crème de la crème of cosmetics! I’ve never once been disappointed by any of their makeup. Their eye shadow palettes, although a little pricey, are the best quality! They are all highly pigmented with true colour. But, besides all that, there is zero fall out – at all! Which means you use every last speckle of eye shadow on your eye lids, and not let it go to waste by falling out. This week sees the launch of a fabulous, intense new mascara from one of my favourite make-up houses, Chanel! Le Volume De Chanel coats each lash beautifully from root to tip, to give you lush, longer lashes in an instant! You can enjoy bigger, bolder, more defined lashes with a wide-open eye effect. Absolutely what the doctor ordered! It comes in three beautiful shades; 10 Noir, 20 Bleu and 30 Prune! Diane Kruger is one of my all time favourite movie stars! She epitomizes beauty and is a true reflection of old Hollywood glam! It’s no wonder then that the House of CHANEL chose Kruger as the new face of CHANEL Beauty!   You may remember her before from Chanel’s ALLURE fragrance ad campaign back in 1996, then again for their Paris-Biarritz bag advertising campaign, which was shot by Karl Lagerfeld in 2007. Now an ambassadress for CHANEL, the gorgeous DK will be the face of CHANEL Beauty, with a new advertising campaign that will be unveiled sometime this year! Shady Business; A Day With Luxottica Checking Out The Sunglasses

A few days ago I was invited to attend the Luxottica Days showcase at the Oysterbox Hotel in Durban. A day filled with sunglasses and a chance for me to check out some of the fabulous range of sunglasses on offer this season. The event is like one big, fat, indulgent sunglass party! Picture being surrounded by beautiful shades and you get to try-on any and every SINGLE pair your heart desires! I also got a first look at the new to South Africa Giorgio Armani sunglasses; Giorgio and Emporio Armani, which I’ll tell you more about soon, so keep an eye on StyleScoop. Now, if you know me at all (or read my blog), you’ll know that “I enjoy the little things in life… Shoes, Handbags and (instead of Jewelry) Sunglasses!” A girl can never have too many pairs of fabulous shades. Chanel Spring 2013 Makeup Collection: Printemps Precieux de Chanel

How beautiful is the new Spring Makeup Collection from Chanel? Here’s a sneak at some of the amazing products I got to sample from this collection… One of my favourite items from the collection, is the Poudre Signee De Chanel Illuminating Powder which has the most amazing design. It’s beautifully embossed with the Camellias (the double C) and miniature motifs of lipsticks, nail polish and gloss. This radiating powder has a satiny finish with a pale beige shade warmed by peachy notes that all work to enhance the complexion.  As always, the eye shadow quads are amazing. The Chanel Spring 2013 collection’s colours are a mix of timeless shades that amp up and enhance natural looking eyes. The Les 4 Ombres Raffinement quad includes pearly beige, matte brown, coppery mink and luminous taupe. Lips are tender, playful or sophisticated. The Rouge Allure Extrait De Gloss in Attirance plays up the sensuality of coppery beige, while the Le Crayon Levres in Rubellite offers and intense pop of pink for Spring lips.

Swoon! How gorgeous is Chanel’s latest Christmas Makeup Collection? I could go absolutely insane with all the sparkle and the festive mood of this collection. Once again, Chanel has outdone themselves, and as much as I loved their 2012 Christmas Collection, this one is even more dazzling! Last year’s collection was all about subtle romance, this year it’s all about golden bronze, sparkling jewels and an antique vintage luster! Check out my hand picked faves from this collection… I am smitten with Chanel’s REGARD SIGNÉ DE CHANEL limited edition eyeshadow quad called Harmonie du Soir. That gold is uber glam and comes out super sleek (the picture just doesn’t do it justice) and the pretty cranberry shade in bottom corner is to-die-for! Chanel’s  ILLUSION D’OMBRE in “Apparence” is another glam gold eye shade, this time in a cream shadow pot. POUDRE UNIVERSELLE LIBRE in “Revêrie” is a gorgeous face powder with subtle sparkle, perfect for the holidays. Just one tip when using this powder; check your face under different light to make sure you’re not too sparkly! The key is to add a subtle glow, not turn your face into a Christmas tree. For Autumn 2012, Peter Phillips, Creative Director for Chanel makeup, amps up the intensity of the iconic house codes in his amazing Chanel Autumn 2012 Makeup Collection. The collection has been on counter since late August (yes, even in South Africa) and I’ve just recently tried it out. As much as I love makeup, I usually find wintry colours a bit boring and bland, but Chanel really knows how to put the excitement back into Autumn makeup and bring out the most amazingly unusual colours. Take a look… Lips Chanel Autumn lips are loyal to the Mademoiselle, each shade conveying a facet of the style of Chanel. I tried the new Rouge Coco Shine in 73 – Chic. It’s a transparent beige that gives the lips a little bit of colour and at the same time, shine, however neither are overpowering. Price: R340 There is one lip colour shade for this collection – Rouge Coco Caractere – and it is, in my opinion the best colour they could have chosen. He’s hot, he’s (almost) married to Angie and at 48 Brad Pitt has still got it! It’s no wonder CHANEL picked him to become the face of their upcoming advertising campaign for CHANEL N°5. This is not only big news for Brad, but for CHANEL who, for the first time ever is shooting a commercial for a men’s fragrance. If you’ve been following StyleScoop, you would have already noticed our feature on two totally yummy, yet very manly scents from Chanel.
