Swimming sensation and seriously hot Lyndon Ferns is a man of many talents. Lyndon grew up in Polokwane and first got into a competition pool at age 11 – to win his first gold medal…And the winning has not stopped since.
He is currently rated as one of the top ten swimmers in the world, he is the fastest man in Africa for the 100m butterfly and the only South African to swim that race in under 52 seconds – Which is seriously fast.
Lyndon is also the SA National Swimming Champion for the second consecutive year in 2009 and smashed his own SA Record at the Speedo Prestige Gala in Durban, bringing the time down to 51.69 seconds.
On the 18th of July Lyndon left for the World Championships in Rome (results still to come in at time of going to press) and will compete in the SA Short Course Championships in Pietermaritzburg this August. He was part of the team bringing the last Olympic gold medal to SA during the 2004 Athens Olympiad.
Out of the pool he is an easy-going, very relaxed guy who has to deal with the normal things in life. He is final proof that you can be a successful sportsman and brainy at the same time – Lyndon sports an Accounting degree from the University of Arizona’s business school.
