My shoe obsession leads to (yet) another pair

The other day, I was out shopping with a friend who I shall hereby refer to as “The Louboutin Friend”. This friend, like me is also shoe obsessed and we both admitted that we have far too many pairs of shoes – hers of course have little red soles and mine don’t.

Anyway, we got chatting and I told her I don’t know what it is about shoes, but I just can’t get, or have enough of them. I spend, spend, spend – whether I have money or dig into the very sad credit card fund, I find a way to feed my little habit. Just like a druggie actually!

The problem with this is that I don’t usually think twice about how much shoes cost. A price sticker on a shoe is almost invisible to me. This is not the same though when it comes to clothes. And what I realised is that I spend every cent I don’t have on shoes, which most of the time I don’t wear  because I don’t have anything to wear them with. Silly huh? We’ll that’s my reality!

That night I told my husband the reason I (still) don’t have a pair of Louboutins is because I just don’t have 6k lying around. He corrected me and said, “No, you don’t have a pair because you haven’t walked passed a shop that has the ones you want” – hmmm, smart man, he knows me well! Maybe it’s a good thing then that I live in Durban, where the idea of “wow” shoes is Havaianas with crystals on them – Don’t get me wrong, I love my Havaianas, but they’re not really on the same level as Louboutns!

Anyway enough justifying my little OTT obsession with shoes, check out my new babies…

Not every one’s cup of tea, but I feel in love with them. They are so different and yet, so very me!

The heels really grabbed my attention, I’m sure you can see why?

Check out the “stacked” heel with a trio of texture – Leather, velvet and high gloss.

Very first pair from Via Uno – ahh, the Brazillian’s know what they’re doing!

When I saw them, I was instantly reminded of a certain wacky, yet totally fabulous Hollywood A-Lister and a certain designer who, in his time, really pushed the limits in the fashion industry.

Know what I’m talking about? Yep, Ga-GA ohh la la. Gaga donned her Alexander McQueen “Armadillo” heels. Not that I’d wear these, but the heel on my new babies reminds me a little of them.

And last but not least, “The Louboutin Friend”s new Louboutins

Are’nt they stunning? They are the Christian Louboutin Ulona platform’s and she got them as  birthday present from her hubby on their recent overseas trip.

Where did you get them? I know of one stockist in Durban but they never seem to answer their phone. I must have them too!
