Best Beauty Blogs

Best Beauty Blogs

I’m honoured to be featured in the November issue of Fairlady Magazine, as one of SA’s Best Beauty Blogs, together with fellow beauty bloggers, Victoria Tatham from Kiss Blush and Tell and Emmy Schofield from Rouge Beauty. Every year, Fairlady magazine runs their Best of Beauty Awards, giving praise to the best beauty products on the market. This year was the first time they included Beauty Blogs as one of their categories. A big well done to Victoria who took home the first ever award in this category, while Emmy and myself were named finalists. I have had the pleasure of meeting both these fabulous ladies at beauty events and am really glad to share a page with them in Fairlady. The judges for this year’s Best of Beauty included the FAIRLADY beauty team (Candice-Lee Kannemeyer, Kelli Clifton, Catherine Zachariou), TV personality Jeannie D, Idols judge Randall Abrahams, as well as FAIRLADY editor Suzy Brokensha, Dermatologist Dr. Dagmar Whitaker, Makeup Artist Linda O’Connell and David Gillson, director of Carlton Hair. Be sure to get the latest copy of Fairlady Magazine to read what the three of us had to say about our blogs. You can also see all the product winners and finalists for the 2012…

You can now browse StyleScoop and catch up on all the latest scoops from your mobile device with ease! Our mobile site is compatible with most smart cellphones such as the iPhone, Android and Blackberry, and it has a completely different, mobile friendly interface to that of the StyleScoop website. The design has been created with mobile browsing in mind, so you’ll find a few very cleverly thought out elements, like accessing our search and navigation menu from buttons that drop down and expand. If you’ve got an iPad don’t worry, we’ve made sure StyleScoop looks good for you too! I for one, cannot stand sites that have all these fancy shmancy “mobile” interfaces that pick up on the iPad as well. Last night, I had loads of fun with the cool kids from Pout School of Makeup helping the talented Lisa Bailey with the looks for the 2012 Durban July Fashion Showcase. The theme for this year’s Durban July is “A Material World” and if you’re wondering what to wear to the July on the 7th of next month, these gorgeous ensembles from designers like David Tlale, Zama Mathe (Zarth) and Brenda Quinn of Diva might inspire you! Loved this gold, smokey eye worn by Brenda Quinn of Diva’s models Darkly Daring… Durban designer Zama Mathe’s gorgeous outfits! Zarth Designer Zama Mathe with her models in her creative designs! I loved this collection! The outfits were made of a sheer net and the detail at back of the outfits (as seen above) was simply amazing! Lisa Bailey working her black-lip magic on one of the models David Tlale’s ombre-dyed tulle collection with smokin’ makeup! How cool did the model’s look? The male model even gave us a little curtsy! Two of my favourite gowns; David Tlale and Zarth Love the front of the first outfit and how cute is this little red apple outfit? Perfect for the July! Some random behind the scenes look! Meet the Ray-Ban Icons!

Meet the Ray-Ban Icons!

These sunglasses have been around since 1937 and seen on the faces of millions around the world. They symbolize a unique, inimitable lifestyle, and come in a wide range of models, each with distinctive design and attention to detail. Of course, I’m talking about Ray-Ban’s, the world’s most iconic sunglass brand. While there are many, many, many styles of Ray-ban sunglasses available, these eight styles are the “icons”. Styles that have been around since forever, timeless legends that transcend seasonal fashions with their instantly recognisable style… From top left to right: Aviators, Wayfarer, Clubmaster, Shooter, Caravan, Balorama, Olympian, Phantom [poll id=”6″] RAY-BAN AVIATOR RB 3025 An icon of style and design, and the model that signalled the birth of a timeless legend – Ray-Ban Aviator 3025 has been all of this since its launch in 1937. Ray-Ban lives up to its name by offering maximum wearer protection while delivering the distinctive style that has become world- famous thanks to the many Hollywood stars who have chosen Ray-Ban eyewear as part of their look.
