Calling all South African Fashion Designers

Great news for fashion designers. bidorbuy, the South African equivalent of ebay, a favourite hot stop for fashion junkies looking to get their fashion fix online, will soon be opening it’s doors to budding fashion designers.

Designers will soon be be able to sell their clothes on bidorbuy, while the rest of us will get to enjoy online fashion shopping 24/7 right here in South Africa!

If you’re an up and coming designer then this next part will really appeal to you. As an incentive and to get the ball rolling on getting your designs listed on the site, bidorbuy is giving away R20 000 worth of exposure to three South African designers during the months of October and November.

Sound good? To enter, designers will need to register as sellers on bidorbuy and showcase either a complete garment or a sketched design that they will be able to produce. The offer is not only for clothing designers, but may also include jewellery, accessories or handbags.

“Selling on bidorbuy will teach designers to promote themselves  in an online environment, including how to advertise their designs, how to handle the selling process, and how to provide after-sales customer service once their item has been bought,” says Natalie Reffo, Fashion Category Manager of bidorbuy.co.za.

The competition is open to all fashion students, recent graduates, or any South African fashion designer who would like to promote their line of work to bidorbuy’s over 1 million shoppers.
