Black Magic! That’s what Magie Noire means in French! A beautiful fragrance with surprisingly long lasting power, considering it’s an Eau de Toilete spray! Developed by Gerard Goupy, Lancome Magie Noire has top notes of Bulgarian Rose and Blackcurrant Bud, Heart Notes of Jasmine and Ylang-Ylang and Base Notes of Amber, Sandalwood and Patchouli.
At first, it smells really strong and a little overpowering, but once it settles on the skin, it leaves a lovely scent that oozes with class and sophistication. If you favour strong, prominent scents like Opium (which we featured in our last Fragrance Friday), then you’re almost guaranteed to fall in love with this mysterious and enigmatic fragrance. Personally, I prefer it to Opium as it has a softer, almost more “powdery” scent but with a gorgeous hint of musk! It’s still dark and mysterious but definitely more toned down.
Lancome Magie Noire retails at R795 for a 75ml bottle, and is available at Lancome counters.
like! 🙂
Rather than limit myself to one perfume, I like to keep a selection of perfumes…to suit my mood and the time of the day. I wonder why the French lead the world in perfume manufacturing? The perfume department in my favourite department store, Galerie Lafayette (in Paris), is enormous…almost an entire floor. I’ve been to a parfumerie in Southern France…interesting + intoxicating!
