We’re still saddened by the news, that Benefit Cosmetics will be pulling out of South Africa.
I remember when they first launched here, and how excited everyone was to have this brand at our disposal. At that time, I had never used any of their products, but had read and heard loads of amazing things about them. Then the amazing happened, Woolworths stocked all these beautifully packaged goodies on their shelves, and we thought life was made! If you were a fan before, I’m sure you were glad you didn’t have to plan a trip overseas to get your Benefit beauty fix!
But that will be the case no more. From August this year, Woolworths will no longer be stocking Benefit cosmetics, as the brand will be pulling out of SA to focus on its European and Asian markets instead. Like many of you, over the years I have grown fond of some of their products, and now that they won’t be a trip to the mall away, I don’t know what I’ll do.
It will be sad to see them go, but here’s a little tribute to Benefit and some of my all time favourite products that I will miss…
I love, love, loved their lip glosses, but most of all, I’m sure going to miss their bronzers! IMO they have the most amazing bronzers (next to YSL’s Terre Saharienne Bronzing Powder of course) and they last a really long time, blend beautifully into the skin and look natural.
Another product I don’t know how I’m going to survive without is Bathina! I’ll have to savour the one I bought myself at Christmas and only use it on VERY special occasions! High Brow was another really fab product, great for creating a soft, subtle brow highlight. Lastly, I am going to miss That Gal – a beautiful primer that you could keep in your handbag to give the skin a little power-dose when needed.
