The Forever New Cote d’Azur collection launched in stores this week and let me tell you gals, it’s probably my favourite Forever New collection to date. It’s got all the elements of elegance, refined style and glamour without being overly racy or too seductive. I’m really into my full midi skirt these days, so when I was planning my first Elegance Untamed outfit post for Wild Africa Cream, I knew I wanted to start with this piece! Elegance Untamed is all about empowering your style and unleashing your inner wild child, but in a tasteful and classy way. Like adding a pop of leopard print to an all black outfit to break it up and a little. Although my outfit is all black, I wanted to keep my shoes neutral, since a nude shoe always looks better and I love how my Loubies compliment the colouring of the leopard print scarf. I also can’t believe that I’m actually wearing a crop top! That’s a skirt I thought I’d never wear and a top I thought I never wear! As much as I love this whole look, I must be honest, I never saw myself in it! So I definitely feel as though I’ve untamed my look and empowered myself to be more girly and glam. I’m trying to step out of my style comfort zone. For a girl who wears jeans-jeans-and-more-jeans, it’s a hard thing to do. Trust me! Lately, full swing midi skirts have really caught my eye. They look so glam, effortless and stylish. So, when I spotted this beaut at Forever New, hesitant at first, I tried it on and fell in love with it! Everything about it is perfecto! The cut is very flattering on my frame. The high waist doesn’t make me look short and frumpy (which happens to me with midi skirts) and I love that it’s not solid black. The horizontal “burnout” stripes give it a nice vintage feel, and keep it looking stylish! Here’s a few virtual looks I’ve put together on how I’d style this fabulous skirt… Ladylike Lace Crop Top: Forever New. Snakeskin Laceup Heels: ZARA.
