Hi There

My O Magazine Shoot – Behind the Scenes

My O Magazine Shoot – Behind the Scenes

Some of you may remember (from my obsessive tweeting) that in December last year, I was lucky enough to get flown to Cape Town to feature in a real people fashion shoot for O Magazine. I’m no shmodel, but it was great fun to experience life as a model – even if it was just for a day. The O Magazine fashion gals, Fashion Ed Robyn Cooke (styleguidecapetown.blogspot.com) and her assistant Luisa are such experts!  I mean, look at the outfits on this rack, without even meeting me, they found my style and knew what would look good on me. I was in love with the Hip Hop jacket and cargo pants, I wanted to take them home. Even the shoes, gimmie! I also got to finally meet fellow blog stars and fashionistas Allison Scotsman (AKA Lady Luxe, aka @TweetsinHeels from skinnybitchesinthemaking.blogspot.com) and Milisuthando Bongela (AKA @missmillib from missmillib.blogspot.com) who are both such amazing girls with awesome blogs. Our feature, Blog Stars is in the current issue of O Magazine (March 2011) which should be out on shelf right now. I can’t wait to see it for myself (yay me), but thought you might enjoy a little behind the scenes…

Kendra’s Tacky Magazine Manicure

Kendra’s Tacky Magazine Manicure

Forget the headline that Kendra and Heff are back together, did anyone else notice her tacky black nails? On the latest cover of People Magazine South Africa, the ex Girl of the Playboy Mansion-who might be the new Girl of the Playboy Mansion is looking pretty dang good, holding her son and showing a hot post pregnancy body. But those nails are positively trashy! I love black nailpolish, but Kendra’s black nails that are peeling and chipped look terrible. Especially on the cover of a magazine – Um Photoshop, think you missed something!

Party makeup tips in the December Elle

Party makeup tips in the December Elle

It’s not every day a girl gets to be featured in her favorite magazine, and so when I was asked to be part of an editorial feature in the latest, December issue of South African ELLE, I was, to say the least, over the moon! If you haven’t already got this month’s issue then you better get cracking as the January one will probably be out by the 15th. Apart from all the fabulous content that ELLE always provides, this issue also comes with a stylish pair of over-sized sunnies and Cappuccino – so that you can flip through the mag and enjoy our gorgeous South African weather while sipping on something fabulous. The feature Beauty and the Blog reveals party tricks and makeup must-haves from myself as well as Cape Town makeup artists and bloggers Samantha Laura Kaye and Eloise Dreyer. Written by the gorgeous Lynette Botha (ELLE’s Beauty Editor), this feature will help you look your best this party season. GO. GET. IT. NOW!

Elle Magazine gets Wek Wek Wek

Elle Magazine gets Wek Wek Wek

The much anticipated April issue of ELLE magazine is out and features gorgeous Sundanese supermodel Alek Wek on the cover. What’s interesting about this cover, is although Wek is a world-famous international superstar, the cover was shot in South Africa, exclusively for ELLE magazine, and by none other than world-renowned Italian photographer Oliviero Toscani.
