Having been to Mauritius twice before, I thought I knew the island pretty well. Turns out, I got to experience a whole new kind of Mauritius in the South. On previous trips with my hubby, we stayed on the North Coast – and I pretty much know Grand Baie like the back of my hand. But this time the Mauritius I experienced was wilder, more idyllic, peaceful, serene and very different from the “buzzing touristy” island I’ve always know.
The South Coast of Mauritius is wild. It’s even referred to as the “Wild South” and you can tell. It’s much greener, where palm trees don’t dominate, but rather blend in with the lush vegetation. I even saw pine trees growing on the beach.

It’s been over a month since our magical holiday to the island of Mauritius, and judging by my Instagram feed, you can tell I’m still not over this paradise island. We had such an incredible stay and today, I wanted to share some of my Mauritius Travel tips and a visual story that may help you if you’re planning a visit to this East African gem.
Mauritius truly is a slice of paradise! From the beautiful beaches to the crystal clear waters with incredible sea life. Then there’s the five-star service (throughout the island), the flowing cocktails and of course, the fantastic weather.
But the one true thing that makes Mauritius so incredibly special, is it’s warm and friendly people who welcome you into their little corner of paradise – if only for a few days!

I love reading 24 hour city guides. I like to see what others would get up to if they had only 24 hours, because I think it highlights their best parts of a city.
Although my recent visit to Prague was for 3 days, bear in mind that this was a business trip, so a lot of the time our schedule was packed with interviews, launches and store visits. I’ve just returned from T-H-E most amazing, 3 day trip in beautiful Prague and can’t get over the beauty and charm of this magical, fairy tale like city of contrasts. I’m Throwing back this Thursday to our 2013 trip up Sani Pass in Lesotho. I’ve been thinking about this trip so much lately, and I really want to do it again! This time in winter! When we went, we went around March and it was lovely, but I remember thinking that it would be even more amazing in winter! All snuggled up in the cold with nothing but a blazing fire to keep you warm and beautiful surroundings. Oh, and not forgetting the decadently wicked Hot Chocolate with a shot of Kahlua to keep warm from the inside – at The Highest Pub In Africa!

Even though I’m back to being a Jozi girl, one thing I’ve learnt from being a former Durban blogger, is how to travel smarter. I used to travel all the time (to Jozi and CT) for overnight launches and I eventually created a little on the go beauty bag. A bag that’s always packed and ready to go, with some essential travel beauty products. Since we’re heading into holiday season, I thought I’d share the contents of my travel beauty bag to give you gals some tips and advice on what I can’t travel without. This little Lou Harvey toiletry bag is the perfect travel size toiletry bag and holds a ton of products. In the past I had different toiletry bags, from ones with built in hangers (so you can hang it on a bathroom rail in your hotel room) to many, many others. I love this one because, when it’s unzipped, you can see and grab anything… no having to empty the contents of your entire bag every time you want to find something.
